The Simple Woman's Daybook For August 24, 2019

The Simple Woman's Daybook For August 24, 2019

This is where it all began.

Looking out my window and it is dark outside. I am back from seeing the movie, Overcomer by the Kendrick Brothers. It was an amazing movie!

I am thinking that today is my granddaughter's 8th birthday. God bless you Kaelynn.

I am thankful that Tim can do things like add wainscoting and new flooring to our master bedroom. Tomorrow he will add the doors and the wood at the bottom. We'll hang curtains then move things back in, Wednesday.

One of my favorite things is reading a story out loud to kids. I love to use different voices when I read. I love seeing kids so interested in reading. Here is one of my favorites.

I am creating a baby afghan with pastel colors and a ripple pattern. I work on it while Tim and I watch the Cleveland Indian's Games.

I am wearing jeans, long sleeves, socks and shoes.

I am reading

I am hoping to work on September's cards for my classes later today.

I am learning more about blending with my colored pencils. I've had watercolor pencils but not a set of regular colored pencils. I got a set of Prismacolor Colored pencils. I love the softness of the pencils as I color. I am learning how to shade with them.
Up to this point I've been using watercolors and Copic Markers for coloring.

In my kitchen a pot of chili was made and it was gone in two days! My daughter-in-law and two granddaughters came for dinner one evening. We found that even the three year old likes chili! It was fun to watch her taste it for the first time. She kept moving the beans in her mouth finally chewing them and swallowing them.  Then she proclaimed, she liked it! She continued until her bowl was empty.

In the school room-Both Tim and I continue to learn things. He learns new things to do our remodeling and today I learned how to descale the coffee maker! I love learning new things.

In my garden I still have strawberries flowering and blooming. The tomatoes need some hot weather to turn from green to red.  We'll pick some of the green tomatoes and fry them up in a frying pan!

Board room-I've been pinning samples of cards from the Stampin' Up Holiday catalog. I'm not really in the mood to make Christmas cards yet, but they have to get done sometime.

Post Script
Here is my favorite place to eat when I visit my sister in Glendale, Wisconsin.

Blessing of the Day: Tim finished putting the flooring in our bedroom. I went to the movie, Overcomer with my Life Group from church. The Cleveland Indians were at home tonight and WON!

Thanks for stopping by.
