Last Monday Tim and I, Brianna, Ben, Rachel and the girls met at Bedford Square. This is a family tradition that Tim and I have done since the year we were married, and Brianna was 4. This year marks the 26th year we've enjoyed the lights here in the square.
This year we had a cool evening, but we were able to enjoy walking through everything and stayed about 30 minutes. The two girls loved it. I love it as well. There were new things that have been added. This is one of the new things, a merry-go-round. All of the kids that went inside of this ran around in circles. It was fun to watch. We were hoping it would tire the kids out. LOL
The girl's faces can't be seen because they are foster kids. So I chose a heart sticker for each of them. They loved this soft bear! It really felt like a huge stuffed animal. The older one wanted the bear's arm hugging her. This was a fun time. When the older one was told we've been doing this since Brianna was 4, which was 26 years, she said, "Wow, that's older than my brother, and he's 22!"
After we visit the lights we come back to our house and watch, The Muppet Christmas. That too is a tradition.
Christmas Day I didn't get pics of my kids opening presents. I just enjoyed watching them this year.
Here's Tim's dad opening a gift. Rather than getting him useless gifts he's put on a shelf, we got him some of his favorite foods. He's opening Panera, broccoli-cheddar soup. This is easy for him to prepare and enjoy. He loved his food gifts. We knew they'd be used and it would help him out with shopping, cooking and meal planning.
This photo is from Saturday after Christmas. The girls came over to celebrate Christmas with us. Chloe loves to be under the tree. She looks like she's guarding the gifts.
Kaelynn loves to read, so I got her several chapter books. She didn't like reading a year ago, but look at her now. A year with Ben and Rachel and us and she's a new kid! She loves books!
This was one of our favorite books to read to Ben at bedtime. It's called, Time For Bed. It's a sweet book with beautifully drawn animal moms and babies. The pictures are very engaging and so are the words. This little one loves this book so I wanted her to have her own book to take home.
This is a bag that Ben brought over with Christmas presents. After the presents were put under the tree, this sweet girl climbed in. Phoebe is so loving and loves to be around people.
Chloe loves to be in things as well. Here she decided to lay down in wrapping paper on the floor. She too loves to be around people. Both cats are like dogs in that way.
Verse of the Day: James 5:16
Well 2019 has come to an end and 2020 is just unfolding. What will it bring? Only God knows that. I'm learning to trust in God more and more. I've had such sorrow the last few months, but God, family and friends have helped me through it. I am so thankful that I have God in my life.
I don't know how people who don't have a relationship with God, get through a day or a struggle in their life. Lord, I pray that this year you will bring more and more people into your flock of believers. May we shine your light in our lives to share Jesus with others and really make a difference in their life and ours.
Blessings of the Day: Tim and I got groceries together. It's a good thing too because we had a winter storm blow through until mid-afternoon. The roads around us were slippery. It was hard to believe that by 10 a.m. the plows hadn't been out with salt.
I got a nap today. I am reading a book and fell asleep on the couch. It was so comfy, cozy.
Thanks for stopping by.
Blessings,
Bensarmom
