The Simple Woman's Daybook February 1, 2025

Today I thought I'd shift from stamping to sharing some of my personal life with you. Every once in a while I like to take a look at what's going on around me and comment on it.

For Today February 1, 2025

Looking out my window it's a cloudy, rainy, cold day here in the greater Cleveland area. This is typical winter weather for us.  I am actually waiting for my two-year old granddaughter to arrive. She is with me on Fridays while her mom and dad work.  I have to say that I so look forward to Fridays.  It's a chance for us to bond by doing things together. It's wonderful to see things through the eyes of an innocent child.  It's not all fun and games though, she's almost three, so she's wanting her way on a lot of things, but I know how to get around that most of the time.

I am thinking that a nap right now sounds pretty good. My sweet little one is down for a nap. I can hear her singing using her stuffed animals. That will go on for a bit then she'll be asleep.

I am thankful that I have this time with Mia. This morning she helped me put out Valentine decorations. Her favorite two things are a sparkly heart and a tree with hearts that lights up.

One of my favorite things is snuggling. Snuggling with a two-year old is just great. We go from snuggling to what we call, Baby Wrestling. I end up tickling her which she loves.  When she was a baby I'd put my head down on her tummy and tickle her. She'd grab my hair and pull. Then we'd fake wrestle which she loved. We called it baby wrestling because she was a baby.

I am creating another afghan. It has 5 different colors of stripes. The stitch I'm doing is called The Suzette stitch. It is a single crochet, then a double crochet alternated.

I am wearing my blue Cavaliers sweatshirt with jeans.  How about those Cavs?

I am reading a mystery by Joanna Campbell Slan. It's a series of books a friend lent to me which are a light read and some deal with scrapbooking.

I am learning every day. I love to check out blogs and the stamping sites I belong to for new techniques and ideas.

In my kitchen it is quiet but the smell of sausage and eggs still lingers in the air. A certain two year old enjoyed that for lunch today.

In the school room I continue to grow in my skills. This week I am working on shading with Copic Markers and colored pencils.

In my garden all is quiet as it's blanketed with snow.

A moment from my day. We were stamping with Valentine stamps and adding glittery hearts to a paper for mama and dada.  We then proceeded to put the sparkly hearts on our hands and nails. LOL

As tiring as a day can be with a two year old, I wouldn't trade it for anything. Our time together is precious and I don't know who enjoys it more, me or her.  I've been blessed and I know it. I thank God for it every day.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Blessings,

Sue
