I Can't Believe it

I recently got some incredible news.....a woman called me (she got my info from my SU website) and asked if I'd do a card night for 50 ladies at a local church as part of a parent/teacher organization night. I had to say yes of course. My upline and I are planning this evening together. I have made some things which I will photograph and send in an email to the woman who called me just to make sure we're on the same track. I want this to go well.
After I hung up from talking to this woman, I immediately thanked God for this gift and asked Him to help me make decisons and help me to do this. If he brought me to this, He can bring me through it!
This is my Sarah resting in her play area. She and her brother have been having fun like they did when they were younger, hanging things up and going inside of them. What a hoot it was to listen to and see what they were up to last Tuesday when they had a day off and I had to work.
I love seeing this kind of thing. Makes me know they are still kids.

This is a purse I got from my upline made from an envelope. I am going to explore how she did it and add directions when I can. Don't ya just love the flower arrangement behind it? It was for a fall baby shower and done in a REAL pumpkin. My daughter Sarah won it in a baby shower game yesterday.

Look at this gorgeous flower arrangement! Sarah won it at the baby shower we went to yesterday. It is real flowers and leaves put into a real pumpkin. I haven't looked inside to see who they have it put together. I will soon though.

This is the little basket that ladies at our workshop will make for their Thanksgiving table. It is made entirely of designer paper with a touch of ribbon. It will have assorted candy in it and if they want, they can add a name card for place settings at their holiday table.

This is the Christmas card that will go to the Widowers in our church. We will be making this Friday in our Card Ministry. The tree has two colors of green, but I think I'll just go with the hunter green. The gold is embossed with versamark then gold embossing powder. Red ink was dtp to paper lightly around the edges.

This is a card we'll be making for widows this month in our Card Ministry. It is real red cardstock embossed with the cuttlebug. The tree is embossed with gold ep. The star at the top is off a little, I was tired can you tell. We'll use the stamp a ma jig when we do this in Card Ministry.

This is gold paper from a local carrier called Hollos in Brunswick. I ran it through the cuttlebug with their gorgeous tree folder. I added a circle at the top with the greeting and it was done! Quick and easy. This will be used at Card Ministry this week which will go to widows in our church for Christmas.

This card uses the wrought iron corner punch where I used it on the medallion and made straight borders. The center circle is a scallop punch using Autumn Vine design paper with 1/16th inch hole in each scallop. The background paper is sage shadow which is hard to see.

This was made for TLC193 challenge and finally finished. The circles were cut from Nestabilities circles. I made the medallion into an ornament by cutting a scallop square in half then only using part of that for the ornament top. I used silver cord to hang it. The white paper is the shimmery white paper. The words are embossed with gold detail embossing powder.

This is a pocket card with a bookmark that we may use for our workshop. The pocket is Holiday Treasures design paper 3x12 folded in half then folded down to form a flap. I used the scallop circle then a 3/4" circle punch in the center to make a wreath. It was decorated with red and green stickles and silver cord. The wide oval punch was used for the saying. Two 1/8" circles were made to put the ribbon through. The bookmark has celery cardstock and white. with ribbon attached with a staple. The tag corner punch and corner rounder were also used.

This is a gift card holder made from an envelope. I sealed the envelope then cut off the right side. This will become the top. I rest of the envelope was stamped them crimped. By crimping the envelope it makes it just small enough to have the top fit on. I used the Curly Label Punch set for the greeting. The red behind the greeting is the red scallop square using riding hood red paper. Red gingham ribbon was also added. The images are from Christmas Cardinal and Snow Burst.

This is the purse that may go with the large white bag for our workshop. It is a medium flat SU bag with the scallop Sizzix die in bashful blue as the flap of the purse. I love how well the little scallop circle goes with this. Purse handle is white ribbon. The purse is kept closed with velcro.

This is a bag made with bashful blue paper at the top where SNOW was wheeled across once. The snowflakes were stamped in ballet blue with Snow Burst snowflakes. This will be the bag the ladies will make to put their items in for our workshop.

This is a bagalope I made from a legal sized envelope which was red. I cut it in half to make two bags. I stamped it with Winter post then added Holiday Treasures design paper to decorate. I punch the sides of the topper and the bag and added the ribbon to keep the topper on. I used the round tab punch at the top. The scallop circle is what was used for the circle in the middle.

This is the other half of the legal sized red envelope I used to make bagalopes. This has The Winter Post stamp set and I used the Curly Label Punch set to make the center. I used the directions found here to layer the curly label punch.
Here's what I found on
Julianne Smith's blog:

A Sudsol sister, Dannie Graves, was playing with her Curly Label Punch and came up with the layering technique shown here. Thanks Dannie!
Curly Label Punch Layering Mini-Tutorial: Stamp your image and punch it out. Then punch TWO labels from your layering color. Turn one label vertically, and adhere to the back of your image. This gives you the top and bottom under-layer. Hold the second punch horizontally and cut it in half. Adhere one half to each end of stamped image to create the side under-layer. Voila!
I put a hole in each side and ran white ribbon through it.

I'm continuing to cough throughout the day and night and often can be found sleeping in the recliner. I hope to be finished with this cold soon. My two kids have it now as well. It all started with a student in my classroom coming to school coughing all over us when he should have been at home.
Thank you for stopping by. I am busy finishing progress reports for my students because report cards will go home tomorrow. I also have my card ministry meeting Friday where we'll make 95 Christmas cards for the widows and widowers.
Then I have my 50 person card night. Lots to do for that. Please pray that I will continue to glorify God in what I do and that this evening will go well.
