I'm Catching Up

Well it's Tuesday now and I'm on my Spring Break. I have had a nice day stamping and getting things from the camera to the computer, and from the computer to my blog.
Today I was able to make 5 cards while a friend was here. I am working on the cards for card ministry Friday.
I can't believe there are so many things that I haven't uploaded to my blog! I hope you don't fall asleep today looking at all I have! LOL

Here is a double layout of the PTA Award I got. There was a surprise assembly to give me the news of the award. Just getting back into scrapbooking so go easy.

This is another 6x6 page I made of the gifts I received. A vase full of roses was one gift. The other gift is a gorgeous quilt made by a colleague.

This is the top of the jar I used and filled for my MIL for Easter. I cut the circles and flowers with my cricut. Being able to make things layered like this is very nice. The flowers have a brad which is mounted using a dimensional. The jar has hand made lotion in it which came from here:(post 11)

This is a jar that I filled with homemade lotion for my MIL. I decorated it with delicate dots designer paper and oval all stamps and the oval scallop punch. The flowers were cut out using my cricut in diff. sizes and a jewel brad in the center. Hope she likes it. The recipe for the lotion can be found here:(Post 11)

Check it out.....I know you've all seen this on Dawn's blog. http://dawnsstampingthoughts.typepad...-friends-.html
I decided to make a large Elmo for the front of my niece's birthday card. Here's what I used:
Sizzix scallop circle for the head, Purple Marvy Uchida scallop punch for the mouth(I cut the scallops off), 1 1/4" circle for the nose, 1 1/2" white for eye, 3/4" black for the eye.
I think he looks pretty cute. I hope my three year old niece likes it. Inside there is a special greeting and a little Elmo saying Happy Birthday. Thanks Dawn!

This is the Thank you card we're making for the men in card ministry Friday. I did a lot of distressing on this one. The ladies at card ministry are getting so good, if there aren't a lot of steps, they are done in about an hour with close to 100 cards! So I'm trying to add more details the the cards. The paper around the tree was colored with a cotton ball using caramel and rose distress ink from Tim Holz. The leaves on the tree are celery and artichoke, This was run through the cuttlebug to give the background texture.

This is the card I made using a technique called Texturz Ink Wash, found on flowerbug.typepad.com by LeeAnn Greff.
I used the paisley texture plate from SU with whisper white cardstock. Then I used bashful blue, celery and cocoa inks with a dauber to apply the ink. I like how it came out. It looks almost like chalk and poppin pastels.

This is a card that I was trying to make look like flowers in the spring. I used caramel for a background run through the cuttlebug. Then I used the scallop border punch on both the celery and choc chip paper. The tree was stamped with cocoa then pink and celery for the flowers and leaves.

This is the second card I did for this challenge. I found a retired itty bitty flower stamp to make the flowers in the tree. I don't know why this set didn't come with flowers instead of snowflakes........oh well, I found something that works.
The flowers are stamped in saffron and pretty in pink. The background around the tree was colored with pretty in pink and bordering blue using a cotton ball. Thinking of You was mounted with a dimensional.

This was made made for color challenge 214 using the cute tree from Branch Out. The tree was stamped in choc chip then for the leaves I used pretty in pink and saffron. The birds are bordering blue. The edges are colored with bordering blue with a cotton ball. The flower is on a dimensional.

This is the card we'll do for the Shut-ins for April for the Card Ministry. I stamped the greenery in moss the used a cotton ball and put pink around the edges. I crimped the designer paper and punched out flowers and glued them on top of the flowers already there. I added a glue dot to adhere the ribbon. Dimensionals are under the word window punch. I used perfect layers for adding the black card stock

I used Easter Morn which is retired from SU and watercolored it using aqua painters and watercolor crayons. Stamped in black on white cardstock and edged with saffron using a dauber. I used delicate dots designer paper and gray for the card base. I cut out flowers using my cricut and added a flower brad and a dimensional to attach it to the card.

Easter at our house always means candy, and gifts of one sort or another. This year it was Christian T-shirts and a retractable mouse for their computer. They have blue tooth mice but they keep needing to be worked on so we've gone back to a USB mouse.
BJ likes his new shirt which will be worn everywhere!

Sarsar also enjoys wearing Christian shirts all over town.

This was the April Fools sketch challenge. I printed out the pattern and cut my paper and reversed it. Then I moved pieces apart from one another to create a mosaic affect. I put blue between the pieces and added dazzling diamonds. Then I added versamark and clear embossing powder. I heat set it then finished the card. The butterfly was stamped on Raspberry Tart paper using rose ink.

Here's the real sketch challenge for today. Thanks Rox for some fun today. This card was stamped with rose ink and I used Simple Friendship for the butterfly and words. I used my old cloud template to get clouds behind the butterfly. I cut out a mask of the butterfly and put it over the butterfly while I made the blue clouds. I did the same thing with the words.

This is my card for today's challenge. I used tea time paper and the stamps from very versatile. The flowers were stamped in pretty in pink and amethyst with celery stems. The bird is colored in marker and watercolor with yellow stickles on top.

Lynn did it again with another challenge I'd never done before. Here's my flower pot. I used some old designer paper and my cuttlebug and sizzix flower and stem dies. The flowers have flower buttons which have yellow stickles in the centers. Thanks Lynn, I'm going to be making more I these. I'll be these would be cute with a packet of seeds in it.
