What a Wonderful November Day We've Had!!

I can hardly believe it's November 8th with the temp. in the upper 60's.  It was so nice I asked DH if we could barbacue one last time.  There's nothing better than barbacued chicken on the grill.  We sat out on the screened-in porch to have dinner.  It was wonderful!  I sat out on the porch to have my lunch and to read the book I must return tomorrow.  What a beautiful, beautiful day.  Quite a gift from God.
DH and I also went for a walk around the block for the first time in a long, long, time.  We'll see how the hip does with that kind of exercise.  Hopefully I can get out of bed in the morning!

Well, you can tell when I have lots of work to do can't ya?  I've been working on Education plans, Report cards and progress reports.  Report cards go home Monday so we had to have things done in time for them to be run off at the board office, have my boss look at them, and organize them to go home.  Whew, it's tough not being able to stamp!
I've been going through a bit of withdrawl.......I also seem to get the books from the library that I've been on a waiting list for, right at the busiest time of the grading period.  Now I have two of them due, one tomorrow and one in two more days and I can't renew them!  AHHHHH, I guess I'll just have to order them again and hope that they come when I have a vacation or something.

Here is a picture of a card that I made using the arch lattice punch from Martha Stewart.  I punched it as the border punch on one side then turned the cardstock around and punched the border on the other side.  This is the cool cut out that I got!  I also used a $1.00 stamp which said JOY on it from Michaels.  Be careful when getting these however, the picture on the wood stamp is much larger than the actual stamp.  It is in a package, so you can't see how big the actual letters are..........I was a bit bothered that it was so much smaller.  Anyway, I stamped with it then used my SU folder to emboss the background, then added a sponged edge.  The Joy stamp was stamped on shiny cardstock and punched out with the oval scallop punch. I added a tiny bit of mambo ink around the edges.  the joy oval was mounted with a dimensional.  I also used razzleberry lemonade designer paper for this card.  The circle is a 2" circle that I cut out with my circle cutter.

Here's another card I made today.  I love the softness of this background stamp.  I stamped in white craft ink then embossed with white ep.  Then I added this pretty SU white ribbon and added Joy again on a dimensional.  the dove is a cute punch from the M.S. collection that I got this weekend.  Have you ever had one of those days where you just needed to do something for yourself?  That's what I had Thursday night.  I  had a tough day and decided after I dropped DS where he needed to be, I needed to shop for myself.  So I went to M's. Oh it's been a while, so I had lots to look at. :-)
I even got some things for my assistant at school who has put up with so much this year.  I told her we both needed something nice for all we've put up with!  LOL  She liked that way of thinking but said I shouldn't have.  I told her I very well couldn't get something for myself and leave her out!

Thanks for checking in on me.  I need to get more Christmas cards ready too.  I got a request by someone in the youth group to help 8-10 girls once a month make cards for the Meals on Wheels.  So I'm going to do that in two weeks.  I told the woman I'd do it only if we could have each girl make a card that she had to give to someone else as a random act of kindness.  There are so many people who could use a simple card or word, or touch to know someone cares.........
Bless you for stopping by.
