December 23rd
FOR TODAY... from Sue's Daybook
Outside my window...it is dark but beautiful Christmas lights shine up and down the street, bringing a light and young feeling to me as I watch them twinkle in the night.
I am thinking...that I love the lights of Christmas. We put them up on the banister to the second floor with pine roping. The kids' rooms are filled with bright lights.........even my room got a string of lights. I love to fall asleep looking at them.
I am wearing... my Do You See What I See? sweatshirt, jeans and tennis shoes.
I am remembering... Christmases past with small children and excitement of opening one gift several days before Christmas so the kids could enjoy the present and the giver. Then on Christmas Day there wasn't a wild, gift opening session where kids are just looking for the next present to open with bearly acknowleding the last one opened.
I am going...to read a favorite chapter book to the kids in a bit..it's a tradition for me to do this.
I am currently reading...my Bible....I haven't opened one of my library books in days. I need to do that soon though.
I am hoping... we bring peace, joy and happiness to our Lord Jesus Christ in our ways.
On my mind... is my husband who has done some amazing things in the past two weeks for us. Thank you God for your gift of a husband for me.
Noticing that...the year seems to go by faster the older I get.
Pondering these words...I saw these on a Christian New Years Day card.....Happy 2010, May the Light of the world bring His light to your New Year!!
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." John 8:12
From the kitchen... We have enough sweets to put us all into a sugar coma. Why do we celebrate with so much junk food?
Around the house... Christmas lights are brightly burning, and all are nestled into their own rooms doing quiet things.
One of my favorite things~reading to the kids the Christmas books in our baskets around the house. They are favorites from years gone by.
From my picture journal...16 years ago filled with such love and hope for a future.
2009 Living the life of parents of teens and beginning to find more time for each other in between taking kids where they need to go. So many blessings over the years. I'm so happy to be where I am in this world. God has truly blessed me with so much in my husband and kids. Thank You Lord for all you've done for me.
