Shading with Alcohol Markers

Today I've been playing with shading using alcohol markers. I've also had fun using scraps of designer series paper. I'm always looking for ways to use those scraps!  I saw this layout on Dawn Olchefske's blog, here.

I reproduced the background using A Little Latte Designer Series Paper and the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch.  I stamped the mug with Lost Lagoon ink and colored it with my Copic Markers BG10 and BG72.  I added coffee to the mug with Early Espresso ink. The spoon was stamped with Rich Cocoa Momento Ink then colored with Calypso coral marker.   I popped up the white hexagon in the center to bring attention to the image panel.

The mug was colored with a flicking stroke from each side using BG72, which created a white space in the center of the mug. That center space was colored with the BG10 marker. After a few layers of BG72, I blended the colors using the BG10 marker.  It's so hard to capture this in a photo, but I tried.

This stamp set is on the Last Chance Sale List for $8.00.  If you've been eyeing it, now's the time to purchase it before it's gone!  What's fun about our sets is that you can use sentiments interchangeably. You don't have to use coffee sentiments. You can use birthday, thinking of you, get well, etc.
