New Card Layout For Scraps

I'm always trying to find ways to use up all of the scraps that seem to multiply in my folders! LOL  A friend sent me a picture of a layout that used scraps but it didn't have measurements. I love that kind of challenge so I set to work with computer paper cutting shapes to fit onto the first layer.

Here's what I came up with:

Card base is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" folded

First layer is 3 3/4" x 5 "

Designer Series Paper is 3/4" x  3 1/2"

Designer Series Paper 2 squares that are 2 1/2"

Computer Paper 3" x 3 1/4" to add 4 strips to

Assorted designer series paper and cardstock for sentiment

This first card is retired designer series paper. The beauty part of Stampin' Up designer series papers is that they are two-sided.  I cut 4 strips and used the front and back. Then I added the sentiment on a 2 1/2" square with a 2 3/4" square behind it.

I turned the sentiment to look like  a diamond so that it would stand out. I didn't want it to match the lines found in the paper strips and squares.

This second card is the basic layout. I used an embossing folder on this card for all but the sentiment square. This is the original layout for the card.  The designer series paper is called, Unbounded Beauty.
The sentiments are from the stamp set called, Unbounded Love.

This card is the same layout with the designer series paper and it is dry embossed.
The sentiment was stamped on a strip of designer series paper.

This card was dry embossed and I added a 2" circle of designer series paper and a 2 1/4" circle of cardstock.

This card is dry embossed with the cute crochet embossing folder and I added a 2 1/2" square of designer series paper for the sentiment and a 2 3/4" square of cardstock.

This last card is like the las card however, I added ribbon to it. This is one of my favorite ribbons. It is blackberry bliss with gold edging.

I made a video to show you how I put the basic card together. Take a peek.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Blessings,

Sue
