I'm always trying to find ways to use up all of the scraps that seem to multiply in my folders! LOL A friend sent me a picture of a layout that used scraps but it didn't have measurements. I love that kind of challenge so I set to work with computer paper cutting shapes to fit onto the first layer.
Here's what I came up with:
Card base is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" folded
First layer is 3 3/4" x 5 "
Designer Series Paper is 3/4" x 3 1/2"
Designer Series Paper 2 squares that are 2 1/2"
Computer Paper 3" x 3 1/4" to add 4 strips to
Assorted designer series paper and cardstock for sentiment
This first card is retired designer series paper. The beauty part of Stampin' Up designer series papers is that they are two-sided. I cut 4 strips and used the front and back. Then I added the sentiment on a 2 1/2" square with a 2 3/4" square behind it.
I turned the sentiment to look like a diamond so that it would stand out. I didn't want it to match the lines found in the paper strips and squares.
This card was dry embossed and I added a 2" circle of designer series paper and a 2 1/4" circle of cardstock.
Blessings,
Sue
