Ribbon and Die Storage

 Hey Everybody,

I don't do much for ribbon storage other than put it in a drawer by my desk. This is in the bottom drawer of the 3-drawers where I have my stamps and designer series papers.

I have two metal containers, one in the front and one in back. The front is supposed to house my current Stampin' Up ribbon. As you can see though, some retired ribbon has jumped into that area. LOL

The back holds retired Stampin' Up ribbon and non-Stampin' Up ribbon. I don't buy a lot of ribbon so this is the only space I need to store it.

Die Storage is evolving for me. I started out with a big, plastic tub sitting on top of my cabinet where my Big Shot is. I had dividers and categories for my dies.
My dies are placed in large plastic envelopes with a magnet sheet for the dies. Then I write on cardstock that goes into the envelope the name of the set of dies and the company it came from. I found that I wasn't using many dies and wondered how I could change that.

A friend of mine told me she puts them in small albums so she can easily flip through them at her desk.

So, I purchased some small albums that are made to hold stamps and dies. I was surprised at how nice they were. I found that the books got too full with the stamps and dies together in here. So those are stored nearby.
The albums are divided into categories to make it easier for me to find what I wanted without having to go through each book each time I wanted something.

The first notebook has object dies. These are things like trees, shirts, birthday cakes and any other thing like that.
The next one has shapes. So any dies that are assorted sized shapes go in this album. I keep both current and retired dies in here. So far I don't separate my Stampin' Up dies.

The third album is for my Alphabet dies and word dies. For my card ministries, I used a lot of word dies. Thinking of You, Get Well, Hugs, Hello, So Sorry, etc.

Here is a link to the albums I am using. They are well made and sturdy. I know there are others out there that are less expensive. I knew these would be used a lot so I was willing to pay a big more for something that could both hold heavy dies and be taken on and off the shelf often.

The image shows two albums. You can choose the colors you want. The white side is a surface that stamps will stick to. The black side is magnetic so your dies will stick to it.

I would love to know how you store your ribbon and dies as well.
Thanks for stopping by.
Blessings,
Sue
