A Three-Technique Card

 Hey Everybody,

Here's another card with a technique I've never done before.

Keywords: MIX662
Stamps: Gathering Moments
Paper: white, real red
Paper Size: A2
Ink: memento tuxedo black, real red, pineapple punch, mango melody
Accessories: peace on earth dies, crushed curry mini chevron ribbon, shaving cream, real red, pineapple punch, mango melody reinkers, white fabric paint
Techniques: shaving cream technique, stamp over paint, baby wipe technique
Jeanne's challenge is to stamp over paint. Check it out here.
I did the shaving cream technique on several pieces of white cardstock. Then I used a die from the peace on earth dies to cut out the smaller label die. I've never done this technique before so I was a bit nervous and didn't want to ruin my card by not getting it right. I added white fabric paint to the label and when it dried, I saw that it left a translucent look like it was marbled. I stamped the sentiment in Memento tuxedo black ink. I punched a hole in each end of the label and attached it to the white layer with dimensionals. While the reinkers were out, I decided to do the baby wipe technique, so I stamped all over a white piece of cardstock using the Gathering Moments stamps. I added the white layer to a real red layer.

If you've never done the shaving cream technique, check out the video I made using a new way.

If you've never done the baby wipe technique, here is a video by Lisa Freeman.
When doing the baby wipe technique look for a solid stamp to use. You can make a background like I did or individual shapes like Lisa did.

Have you ever used paint on a card then stamped on top of that? It was an interesting experience. Now that I've done it once and seen how easy it was, I won't hesitate to use it again some time.

How about you? Would this be something you would try?
It's fun to try new things in this hobby. I love learning new things and passing that on to other stampers.

Time to go to the basketball game. Today we're going to the 'G' league basketball game here in Cleveland. The G-league team is called, The Charge. The players that are really good, are eventually brought up to our professional team called, The Cleveland Cavaliers or Cavs as we call them.

What's fun about this is that we get dinner, snacks and dessert at the game. We have front row seats so we're right there in all of the action. It's wonderful to see young kids go up to these young players and ask for pictures with them or an autograph. The players are very approachable at this level and you don't have the high security that you do at the professional level.

Another great thing is we can afford a half-season of home game tickets. We couldn't do that with the Cavs for sure.

I hope you learned something today.
See you again soon.
Blessings,
Sue
