Color Challenge With Polished Stone

 Hey Everybody,

Today's card is a color challenge given to us by Mary. Check it out here. Our colors for this challenge are, Pretty in Pink, Bubble Bath and Mossy Meadow. Dessert this week is to use gold dots or sequins.

I stamped this little guy and colored him with Copic Markers and fussy cut him. I edged his wings in metallic gold marker. I used a gold pen to add dots to his wings. I added clear wink of stella to his wings then curved them forward a little bit.

I did the polished stone technique the added gold dots with gold stickles and a big of gold paint. I used washi tape to mask off a border and used a neutral, misty moonlight to make a border for the card. The little mouse and the sentiment were added with dimensionals. This will go on a dinner tray at a local hospital.

Keywords: CC1071 House Mouse
Stamps: House Mouse-Flying to See You
Paper: white, pretty in pink, glossy cardstock
Paper Size: A2
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, misty moonlight
Accessories: Copic Markers, Pilot gold marker, Gelly Roll Gold metallic pen, clear wink of Stella, Gold stickles for dots, washi tape border, scissors, dimensionals, bubble bath, pretty in pink and mossy meadow reinkers, rubbing alcohol, cotton ball

If you haven't done the polished stone technique, here is a video.

What's fun about this technique is that you can use any colors, you can add a metallic ink if you want, and because you use rubbing alcohol, it dries very quickly. It smells a bit so use it in a well ventilated area. Sometimes I put a fan on so I'm not breathing it in for long.

This technique doesn't have to be used just for backgrounds. It can also be used with your dies. You can cut shapes and letters for your card from the cardstock you've colored with this technique.

Well, what do you think? Is this technique something you've tried? If not, is it something you will try?  I hope so, I love the varied results you get with it.
You'll need: glossy cardstock, a cotton ball, and several reinkers. You can add a metallic ink too if you like. You can stamp on this as well.

Take care and thanks for stopping by today.
Hope to see you again soon.
Blessings,
Sue
