Heather Ate the Apple and the Pumpkin Pie

 Hey Everybody,

How did you like the title of today's post?  It is from the color challenge. They always have a cute way to introduce the colors each week.

Our color challenge is to use highland heather, granny apple green and pumpkin pie with your choice of a 4th color. You can find the challenge here.

This is one of my favorite retired Stampin' Up stamp sets. I borrowed it from a friend. I had this stamp set but can no longer find it. I can't imagine giving it away since it's one of my favorite to work with. Anyway, I borrowed this from my friend, Jan, for a few days so I had to make a challenge card with it.

I chose daffodil delight as my fourth color. I stamped my background then stamped and die cut the bouquet. I used two sign design punch pieces back to back to make my bouquet. I added a bow with vanilla lace. The bouquet was added with dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment in black. The background piece was added to a piece of black to bring out the colors. Then it was added to a highland heather card base.

Keywords: CC1073
Stamps: Forever Fern
Paper: white, black, highland heather
Paper Size: A2
Ink: granny apple green, highland heather, pumpkin pie and my fourth color is daffodil delight, black
Accessories: Forever Flourishing dies, Very Vanilla scalloped lace trim, glue dots, dimensionals, sign design punch
Techniques: die cutting
Here's what this retired Stampin' Up stamp set looks like. There are dies that go with it, but I always loved making cards with the stamps. I did use the dies for my card today though.

One of my favorite stamps is the speckled one. I love using that to fill in areas in my background. I stamped it with pumpkin pie on my card.

What was interesting about this challenge is that many people saw those colors as Halloween colors and made Halloween cards.

So, what stamp set would you use for making a card with these colors? Highland Heather, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie. You can choose another color as well.

Well, I hope you try this color challenge. Did you know you can find these challenges I talk about on Splitcoaststamers?  There is a challenge every day there. Some days there are two challenges.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope to see you again soon.
Blessings,
Sue
