A Sunflower Challenge

 Hey Everybody,

Here's another card with another challenge.  Claudette aka lamoore was chosen as today's featured stamper. You can find this challenge here. She is # 1,000 featured stamper! Amazing isn't it? Here is the inspiration from her gallery for my card.

I changed the colors for my card and the orientation. I stamped the largest flower in crushed curry, then the next flower in cherry cobbler. The center was stamped with soft suede. I masked the flower and stamped the leaves on each side. I stamped off several times to create the background for the sentiment using old olive. I stamped the sentiment with cherry cobbler. The acorn was added with pecan pie. I added a bow with linen thread. The image panel was added to a cherry cobbler card base.

Stamps: Stampin' Up-Painted Harvest
Paper: white, cherry cobbler
Ink: crushed curry, old olive, soft suede, cherry cobbler, pecan pie
Accessories: linen thread
Techniques: two-step stamping, masking, stamping off

This is one of my favorite retired Stampin' Up sets. It makes the most beautiful cards. Here are some samples from my Splitcoast gallery. I really tried to use this set in as many different ways as I could. I used traditional colors of yellows and oranges, but then I also used blue, purple and pink.

I made wreaths, backgrounds and turkeys.

I love how the pink and dark brown look alongside the typical yellow colors.
I covered almost all of the card front then stamped the sentiment. You can easily make a background that is pretty by using a few colors with your two-step stamping.
Check out how a purple flower with green leaves looks in a lacy oval frame.

Here I used it as a whole wreath and decorated it with red berries

When you look at all of the stamps in the set, it was a perfect combination of stamps for a lot of out-of-the-box cards.
Well there you have it. How I used a two-step stamp set for many different types of sunflower cards.  I love doing these challenges because it helps me to use my older stamps. It's great to get them inky again.

Take a look at your stash. Find a stamp set that hasn't seen ink in a long time.  Get it inky. If you don't have any ideas, look online to see what people have done with it, then make your own creations.
Thank you for stopping by.
Blessings,
Sue
