A friend and I were talking about friendships. We both felt that God allows people into our lives, some for a season, some for the long haul. Do you have any friends like these? Do you have some that maybe your were best friends in high school, college, the first place you worked, the church you attend, that now you don't see? Yet for a moment in time you were the best of friends sharing your heart and soul with each other? I have friends like that and I've felt a little guilty pulling away from them. We used to work together 15 years ago and formed a monthly craft group which has now developed into a monthly restaurant group..............I don't like to try to talk to friends in a big table at a restaurant, ya know what I mean? You can't hear, you have to shout and when 8 people go out to eat, it's a long, drawn-out process. You don't eat until 8 or 8:30 and frankly for me, that's just tooooooooooooo long to wait to eat.
Anyway, God has continued to bless me with wonderful people in my life. So I think that in honor of my loving and counseling friends, I'm going to make them cards and send them something to tell them how special they are to me. I love the chance to send something to someone just because, you know?
My kids and I had an agreement that today we'd look for someone who had a need and fill it for them. God must have been laughing when he showed me who had a need;one of the grumpiest people, one who always complains even when it's 70 degrees and sunny, on a Saturday, while she's at home, shopping on the internet for her favorite kinds of purses and shoes!!LOL
Anyway, it was pouring down rain and she was pulling her small suitcase across the parking lot, with coffee in her hand, her lunch and several other items. Of course I couldn't walk past the door and not help, now could I? I opened the door and she was greatly appreciative for 2 seconds, then started to complain about the weather, the pants she was wearing, the shoes that got wet, the amount of work she took home, the long day she'd have and the long drive after work to see her daughter for a long weekend.............I just smiled and thanked God for the opportunity to bring some sunshine into this woman's day, even if she missed it! Life is that way isn't it? God brings small bits of sunshine into our lives and sometimes we're so busy whining, that we just miss it! I pray that you'll be more of aware of the rays of sunshine in your life, no matter where they come from. I know I will be. Hugs and prayers until next time.
So here's my card the the SCS sketch challenge and ways to use it challenge this week. It's called True Friend.
This is a place where I can share my love of family, stamping and the Lord.

Oh Sue, I love your post on True Friends. We are of kindred spirits and one just has to chuckle at the "Eeyores" who feel the need to complain. Maybe that's their way of small talking and RAKs affect them more than we know it, but to me, the more grumpier, the greater my desire to hit them with RAKs. I almost do it out of orneriness. :D
I love this card! You are doing wonderful things with this set!
