Cake Decorating and Cards

Today we went to our first cake decorating class. Both kids really enjoyed learning how to make different things. They worked on a cake pan so it was more like decorating a cake. Next week we'll begin decorating a cake. We learned how to make hearts, shells, edges, and some basic fill in flowers. We also learned how to fold the parchment paper to make the frosting bag. Here are some pictures of the kids having fun.

I got some MOM time last night and this afternoon to make some things. It's been a while and I've missed. Below is a pansy image that was watercolored with SU watercolor crayons and an aquapainter. I'm not sure what I want for words yet, so I'm going to leave it blank until I have a need for it. These are some of my favorite flowers, besides sunflowers and roses.

This is a take-out box using wild rose set and a scalloped punch behind. I folded the flaps out instead of in, and punched a hole in each end and tied the flaps closed. I also used my scalloped scissors to cut the flaps shorter. Yellow stickles were used for the flower center. Read red, and eggplant cardstock were used. I used white cs for the leaves and flowers. I filled this with hugs and kisses. It may be donated to our Family Fitness Night. Hugs and Kisses don't seem all that healthy to me! LOL

Here's my card for the SU LSC153 where you could make a football card, a blue/white, red/white/blue card, or something to do with the Super Bowl. I chose using red, which and blue. This is an image I stamped when a friend brought it to my house one night. I used navy and red watercolor crayons for the image. I used bashful blue and navy for the clouds in the sky. The geese are navy stamped off once. I punched two large stars from the navy paper and filled them with white starts. Then I punched white stars our and glued them to the card. I am pleased how this came out. Snoopy is new for me.
