Fondant Cakes by Ben and Sarah

This was a fun day at cake decorating class. The kids and I got to work with Fondant. It was already made so all we had to do was work it like playdough and add coloring. Did you know they have powdered food coloring? I didn't either.......we didn't use that, but our instructor told us they have it and it paints onto flowers you make so beautifully it looks like a real flower. The things you learn at these classes ya know? Anyway, Ben loves to draw this cube guy he's invented, so he made that on his cake and gave it to his sister who they visited at Kent today. Sarah knew they'd be bowling so she made a bowling lane and decorated it wit fondant stars and frosting flowers. I think it's such a cute idea! The teacher said she'd never had anyone make a bowling alley before. The kids loved this class. Next week we'll be helping to make a layer cake. We get to have family come and visit and eat and enjoy the cake with us. Yum.....

Great cakes! That really was a good idea taking that class together. Something they'll always remember.
