Glitter and Gold

This for for today's color challenge on SCS. The colors were sky, caramel and black. I love this heart from Fourishes so I made a split negative from it using caramel and sky. I added versamark and heat stick powder, then dazzling diamonds to the heart. This is one sparkly heart in real life. I love how it came out. So that's the glitter part of my title today.

The Gold part is referring to The Streets of Gold that can be found in Heaven we're told in the Bible..............Today we went to the funeral of a 20 year old who was hit by a truck as he biked to work. It was so sad and draining to listen to this young man's life in this 2-hour long ceremony at church. I went through so many emotions listening to people who knew him, and seeing pictures of him everywhere you turned. We know that Patrick was a Christian, so he's walking the streets of Gold with God right now.
However that doesn't make it any easier to deal with. I was told his mother told a friend last week, that she needed to prepare for THIS week, because she lost a son with Down's Syndrome when he was 9 months old, this week. So it was already a difficult week, now to bury another son in the same week, years apart has got to be heartbreaking.
Thank you for your prayers for this family.
Thanks for stopping by.
