Lemon Pie and Dragsters

There's nothing like lemon pie is there? I know, I love chocolate pie but just saying the words lemon pie makes my mouth water, how about you? LOL

This was a fun challenge from SCS. You had to use brads in your card in ways that were not traditionally decorative, like the corners. I wanted to do something other than a flower for the brad placement. My chef was the perfect opportunity to do this. I had lemon pie on my mind so that's what he's made today. The pie was colored with markers then I added liquid applique and heated it. If you heat it a little bit longer it will brown a bit like meringue. The pie also has crystal effects on it.
The chef's clothes are colored using wet thumping. I don't know if that's a real technique or not, but I spritzed water on him then thumped my turquoise marker all around and it made this cool effect. It sorta ran into the yellow, but what are you gonna do?
I like the words with this as well since I am happy when I am eating dessert.
My DS finished up the week with Dragster racing. He didn't win a trophy but had lots of fun racing this week.
Here is his display box with his dragster inside. He loves guinea pigs so he designed the inside of the box with pictures of piggies.

If you look closely at this photo you'll see two blurs near the bottom. Those are the two cars racing. It takes less than 1.5 seconds to go from one end to the other. My DS's car is the one on the left. This is the only heat he won, but he was proud just the same.

Here are some of the other dragsters that competed in the double-elimination racing today.
It was very interesting to see how they used the CAD program to design their car and work from that to a wooden model.
DS is already planning on what he wants to take next year. Guess I better start saving to send him!

Thanks for visiting today. Bless you for stopping by.

Great use of brads on your chef! That's a really cool car too! Please congratulate your son on winning his heat!
