We got to use the rowboat on the pond as well. It had the typical oars and it also had paddles so the kids had fun learning how to work together to steer.
There were many areas with sandstone cliffs and caverns that you could wander around. It was amazing to see how huge these areas were. It was fun to walk through the sand that had come from the elements destroying the sandstone. What an amazing God and His creation!
This was our meal for the first night. It is a typical campfire meal.........potatoes sliced on the bottom, then a burger, onions, carrots and cook it in the fire. mmmmmm-good. DS was in charge of getting dinner ready for us. We helped cut up the food and he put it together and cooked it.
Here's my BIG catch of the stay.........this guy was almost 12 inches.
Sarah's big catch of the day was another fish like the one I caught. She was proud of her accomplishment!
This was the prettiest orange flower in the middle of the walking path in the woods by the pond. I watched one, then two, then three and finally four butterflies land on this and drink the sweet nectar of the flower. It was pretty incredible.
Here's my teenager sittin' on the dock. I love the reflection of him in the water too.
This is the most requested area on the trip: the hot tub. The kids got to be in the hot tub 10 minutes at a time. They had a blast in this.
I'm so grateful for the time the Lord gave us to rest and refresh. I'm thankful that He continues to watch out for me and guide me.
Please pray for my DS who will go on a local mission trip to downtown tomorrow.
Thank you for stopping by.
