I Lost a Dear Friend Today

I lost a dear friend today.
God decided to call her home.
Her work for Him was done here.
It's hard to lose a friend in a blink of an eye

My brain doesn't seem to comprehend that.
I'm in a surreal place where it cannot be true,
but I got the call and it's all I can do,
to breathe, yes breathe, in and out, in and out,
trying to absorb the pain the anguish I feel
How could she be gone, this can not be real

My dear friend and I worked together for years
We shared lots of laughter and even some tears
The most special thing about my dear friend
Is that she'd pray for me when work woes tried to overcome
The words I loved most as I left to fight a battle,
Were, "I'm praying for you. God is your armor now.
He goes before you. The battle is His!"

No one blessed me at work more than my dear friend.
We prayed daily with each other about things in our lives.
She was a precious gift God gave me for a while.

I'm so sad she's gone, but I know she's in Heaven with God.
There was rejoicing today as she joined the choir and got to see her maker.
I loved her God and so did you. I now see that you needed her more than me.

Take care of my precious friend Lord, until we meet again.
Then look out Heaven, we'll have a reunion, like none you've ever seen.
Good-bye my dear friend, Patti.
Until we meet again.
Love,
Sue
