My Baby is 22!

At 7:27 p.m. 22 years ago, my sweet Sarah Annie was born. She was 9# 13 oz. and 21 1/4" long.

Big brother Ben was 22 months old when Sarah was born.  He couldn't believe she had such little hands and feet. He was mesmerized by her. He didn't understand that I couldn't come home and he cried all the way down the hall when he had to leave. It broke my heart.

Ben loved to feed Sarah. While I watched, he could give her a bottle. He kept a cloth diaper nearby in case she spit. (spit up)  I'd hold Sarah up so Ben could burp her. I kept Ben active in helping me with Sarah.
I'd send him for diapers, give him diapers to toss. I'd ask him to pull clothes out of the dresser for her.

Sarah often ate meals on the kitchen table in her baby seat. This time she was very interested in the flowers. She pulled them toward her while I got dinner ready for her. She was intent on getting those flowers.

Ben and Sarah got along very well. They were often called twins by others.  They never had the sibling rivalry like other kids. They loved having their picture taken together. So many sweet times.

I am so thankful for these two in my life.
Today at church, Ben gave the sermon. It was fantastic! I wish they recorded sermons, I would have ordered this one. He was coming from a teen retreat this week. He had 17 kids that attended. His sermon was about serving in the church and the special relationship you have with God once you accept Him into your life. He reassured the teens that they were loved, accepted and valued. That's not what the world tells them. Ben gave statistics about the number of teens in America who are depressed, attempt or commit suicide. It's staggering the number of kids ages 7th grade to  12th who are affected.
His sermon showed that by being a Christian and serving in the church, you stay connected, get learning you need to grow, and are rewarded by feeling great from what you are doing to volunteer in your church.
I was ready to sign up to work with the teens!

Today after church I visited Sarah and we went to lunch then went shopping. We had a fun time.

This afternoon Tim and I watched our Cleveland Browns lose in a close game to the Ravens 24-26.
Baker Mayfield has been an amazing QB. Last year we were 0-16.

Then Tim and I began watching a show about the Hindenburg crash.  We got half-way through it and will finish it another day.  So many things I didn't know about this event.

Verse of the Day: Isaiah 41:10 My sister and her family are going through a difficult time right now. So right now I'm clinging to this verse.
Image result for Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Here's a song by Chris Tomlin called, Fear Not. This is such an encouraging song.

Blessing of the Day: Many people are praying for my sister and her family.

Thanks for stopping by.

Blessings,
