Belated Mother's Day 2020

Happy belated Mother's Day. Yesterday many mothers celebrated Mother's Day. I saw Ben for a while, which was nice.  We didn't see Brianna.  I was sad that Sarah continues to live for herself. I haven't seen her since Sept. 10, 2019. She told us she didn't want to participate in any family activities and didn't want any contact with us.  She wanted to live her own life.

I can't tell you how much this has hurt both Tim and I.  Each major holiday or family event is a time of loss for me. It's like when you go through firsts without a person after they have died.  That's how it was for me yesterday.

Of course I couldn't see my mom in the nursing home, so that was another disconnect.  I cried and felt a bit sorry for myself.  You know the kind of tears that just slide down your face? You don't really control them?  That's where I was yesterday.

Today began that way like a weight was on me. I actually went back to sleep and when I got up two hours later, I felt better.  Thank you Lord for helping me through this.

Sunflowers always bring me sunshine and smiles. I needed this today.  After a half day and a nap, I felt better. I went to a field of sunflowers a few years ago. It was breathtaking and so amazing.

This is the card that was the inspiration for my card for Featured Stamper on Splitcoaststampers, Sunday.

Here's my card. I loved the sketch with the centered image.  I just got this new Gnome stamp set from Jessica Lynn Originals. It was on sale and I don't own any gnomes. The sentiment is from the Stampin' Up digital download called, Share Sunshine. It's a 15 page PDF file with all sorts of sentiments for dealing with this time of virus and quarantine.  I thought the sentiment was perfect for my image.

This is the same gnome and layout. This is for today's color challenge. The challenge used melon mambo, daffodil delight and calypso coral. I did paper piecing for his hat, then stamped the hearts on it. The gnome is colored with Copic Markers.  The sentiment is from the Stampin' Up digital download.

I think this layout is great for using up designer series papers. I also like paper piecing his hat.

Blessings of the Day: I got some things done today. I did laundry, made chili for dinner, and cut out 15 pages of sentiments from my Stampin' Up download. I also sorted them by colors. I know I will use them quicker if they are already cut out and ready to go.

Tim got the dry wall up in the bathroom.

We got outside to sit for a while.  It was cool, but felt so good to get outside.
