Playing With Quilts

I know it's been a while since I posted here, but I have a website, Instagram and Facebook account to work on for my Stampin' Up business.  Take a peek at my website, here.

I've been playing around with different quilts I've seen online. Then I make a paper version. I have several friends who quilt. These would make great gifts for them.

This first quilt is called The Mill Wheel. It's easier than it looks. You're basically taking two designer series papers squares and 2 white squares and adding circles that have been cut in quarters from the same designer series paper and white paper.  Pretty cool, huh?

This is another quilt-like card. I start with a 1" square in the middle then add strips of paper around the square until I get to the edges. Then I dry emboss the card front so it looks more like a quilt.

This is called a Recessed Panel card. I have made several different cards like this. It's not too difficult and once you've made one you have the piece you've cut out to trace on your front panel.  This card uses a piece of the new fall paper that is in the mini catalog that goes live, August 4th.

How about another different kind of card? This is called, Reverse Stenciling.  It's easy to do as well.
Take a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" white paper and put ink on it in various places. Put a stencil on top of that paper and stencil a dark color through the stencil. When you remove the stencil, you have the reverse of the stencil! Pretty cool, huh?

This is a set of cards that I made following someone's One Sheet Wonder.  The card with the frame has dry embossing in the center. It look so pretty close up.

Here is the inspiration for my card:
I cut out the circles with a punch and dies. I stamped and cut out with dies. I sponged the edges of all the circles. I added blueberries to the center circle. Linen thread was added.
Here is the inspiration for my card:
I loved the colors and the idea of a fun fold. I also wanted to make a card my mom could easily display in her room in the nursing home. I haven't been able to see her since Covid began in March. I try to send cute and fun cards to lift her spirits.
I stamped all of the images in memento rich cocoa. Then I colored them with Prismacolor colored pencils. I fussy cut the images and added them to the folding card with dimensionals.
Here is how to make this type of card:Video
