He has Risen, He has Risen INDEED! Christ has risen from the grave! What an amazing thing he did; he died to take away the sins of the world. He separated himself from his father, God. I'm thrilled and amazed to be in the family of God.
We used to do an egg hunt at home for the kids for Easter. I'd type up things on strips of paper and put them into eggs. The kids would hunt for eggs and put them in baskets. Then we'd come to the couch and read each one. One read a fact from the Bible and a verse, then they were given a clue of where to find something. Usually it was a small toy or some candy. The idea was, we were connecting it to the Bible and what the Easter Story was all about. We also had a resurrection egg carton where each night you'd take something from the carton and talk about it. When they were older we included Bible verses to prove what we were telling them was true.
Yea, I still get them a bit of candy, make them something. It's a tradition. Tim and I dropped off their stuff Friday. Ben called us and we did a video chat while they opened their candy and cards. He's such a sweet kid to let me see them open their gifts from us.
I've been busy making cards. Last weekend, Splitcoaststampers had a Virtual Stamping Night on Friday and Saturday. Each hour beginning at 6 p.m. Friday evening, there is a challenge that goes with the theme of the weekend. The theme was Parks and Recreation.
This card challenge was to make a card with flowers in several colors. I added a sentiment and gorgeous grape ribbon.
I put hair gel into a small clear envelope and added blue reinker. I added iridescent ice and mixed it all together. I cut out an oval for the lake then cut out two ovals at the same time with navy paper to make the ring around the lake. I dry embossed the card base with the pinewood planks embossing folder. I stamped, colored and fussy cut the images. I added clear wink of stella to the water where the little ducky is diving. I stamped the sentiment in black and mango melody. I added the mango melody word to the sentiment. I colored the sun and added it and the sentiment to the card base.
The hyacinths are up and smell wonderful! The daffodils are blooming as well. These are flowers from past Easters. If you look closely, you'll see skinny things sticking up behind the flowers. Those are onions, believe it or not. Our yard was once an onion field on a farm. This land was all part of a large farm at one time. Each year we have onions to pull! Still get them after living here 20 years! LOL
