Hey Everybody,
Jeanne's challenge for us was to make a beach scene. You can find it here. I stamped the sand and shells on the balmy blue cardstock and the white cardstock. I stamped so saffron on the beach area to blend it with crumb cake. I stamped the birds in basic gray and colored them with Copic Markers. I used my blending brush and torn paper to make the water with balmy blue. I used my cloud cut out and blending brush to make the clouds in the sky. The sun was masked while I did the sky then colored with a watercolor pencil. I drew a horizon line with my ink pad then stamped the sentiment. The birds are attracted to shiny things, so I added the pearls. Most times when I make a card, I don't have in mind what type of card it will be until it is finished. When I looked at this card I thought it could be a Thinking of You card which covers a lot of occasions. Then I looked at my stash of Sympathy cards and realized I didn't have many. A lot of times, I'd rather make a sympathy card ahead of needing it. To me it seems easier. I liked this for a sympathy card because it didn't have flowers and the typical sympathy card look. What's fun doing these challenges is going through my stash to see what stamps, papers, dies, embossing folders I can use. It really allows me to use more of the things I have. It also helps me remember what I have so nothing sits idle for too long. So, here we are at the end of another post. As always thanks for stopping by. Blessings, Sue |
