Bird Stamp and Background

Hey Everybody,
Ardyth's featured stamping challenge can be found here.
Today's card is an inspiration challenge.  Here is the inspiration for my card.

Here's my card.

I kept the stamp set the same but used a different bird from the set. I gave this a background and three round embellishments. I changed the background to a stencil instead of paper, changed the sentiment and added a shadow behind the bird instead of adding vellum.
The bird was stamped with memento tuxedo black ink and colored with Copic markers. I used the die to cut out the bird. I use the Dr. Seuss Roads stencil to give it a crazy, not well kind of vibe. I used Distress Oxide inks to stencil. I colored white paper with yellow ink then stamped my sentiment. I used my die to cut out the circle. The image and sentiment were added with dimensionals. I added three glass dots similar to my inspiration. The image panel was added to a black card base.

Keywords: FS966
Stamps: Tim Holtz-Bird Crazy, You're On My Mind
Paper: white, black
Paper Size: A2
Ink: memento tuxedo black, Distress Oxides fossilized amber, broken china, cracked pistachio
Accessories: Colorful life designs-Dr. Seuss Roads, Copic Markers, SU-Spotlight on Nature Dies, blending tools, dimensionals, SU-faux glass dots
Techniques: stenciling, ink blending, coloring

What bird stamp would you use? I have some real bird stamps and some that are like the Tim Holtz bird stamps. They are more line drawings.  I think the type of bird stamp you use will help you decide what to do with the background for your card.

Because I did kind of a crazy bird, I chose a stencil that was a bit crazy or silly to go with it. If I would have had a stamp that looked more like a real bird, I would have had a much different background.
Take a look at your bird stamps. Choose one. Now, what will you use for a background? You can use paper, another stamp, stencils. Let your imagination run wild. Think outside of the box. Now put your image and background together.
How do they look?
Thanks for looking in today. I hope you give this a try and expand your card making skills one card at a time.
Blessings,
Sue
