Anniversary Time

Well, it's that time of year again, no, not time to go back to school. It's my anniversary time. August 7th my hubby and I will celebrate 14 years of marriage. Here is a card I made for him. He likes burgundy so I always use that for the card base. I layered river rock on top of that and used pomegranate and hunter with daubers on the tree. The edges of the white cs are done in pomegranate. This was for the Friday Limited Supply Challenge where you had to use words in your background but you couldn't use designer paper or words from a word background. So I used, my heart is with you, and stamped hearts near the word, heart. I used the ticket punch for the corners and added eyelets. Happy Anniversary was stamped in hunter green and I used a heart cut out and a dauber with pomegranate ink to fill in the heart, like stenciling. Hope he likes it.

Friday night I had my first sleep over in a long, long, long time! When's the last time you had a sleep over with someone who WASN'T a relative? Anyway, we had the whole house to ourselves for the whole night. My friend's hubby was working over time all night, and her son was at a birthday party sleep over. So....we stamped, went through the catalog and wrote down who had which stamp sets, ink colors, markers, etc. That way when we're doing a workshop or make and take, we know what we have that's current. We organized her pile of retired stamps and even labeled them on the shelf. Then we got to have fun stamping. We played with the new colors and her happiness background stamp. These are some simple 3x3 cards I made with them. Most have a decorative scissor edge. I had fun with these because they were quick and easy.
My friend's son kept asking us what we were going to do, were we going to order pizza, talk about boys and make prank phone calls? How late were we going to stay up? We had a great time stamping and talking until 1:30 then stamping from 10-1 the next day. Oh how wonderful it was to do this with a good friend.

Tonight my 12 year old son, Ben made his very own card. He is so proud of it we posted it on SCS in my gallery. If you're inclined to do so, he's love some comments on his card. He did some advanced stuff on this card and worked without me even in the house! LOL I'm proud of his work. He even wrote his own sentiment: Plant a little seed in someone's life today!
Thanks for looking!

Ben, that is a great card! I love the graphic of the apples! I love the collage of type and script fonts on it. VERY good. I also love the torn edge of the red cardstock. It almost looks like a linen or "screen" card.
The choice of ribbon is great. It brings out the background of the apple image plus the greens and adds that beautiful blue. My favorite part of the card is the phrase. VERY nice card.
