The End of His Ball Playing For Now

It was a sad evening Sunday when our 12 year old left the baseball picnic at the home of his manager. Ben decided that he didn't want to play baseball anymore after 5 years of playing on the city's travel team. I think it was a good decision for him, but hard to deal with saying goodbye to everyone. My 12 year old Ben, is such a sensitive guy, that saying goodbye is very hard for him. He's so much like his mama. I used to hide when my grandma, who would stay for a month or so, would leave to go back to PA, cuz I knew I'd cry and embarrass myself. My buddy Ben is going to make a great husband some day. He couldn't talk tonight after the picnic, but he came to me and hugged me and silently cried.......it broke my heart. I'm praying God will continue to help him through this tough time. I'm also praying God will direct Ben to what He has next for him. Thanks for listening to a mom's heart.

My son now 15 was (and somewhat still is) just like that. Yes, that is me to a tee. God blessed him with a sweet sensitive heart and we just have to commit them to God, praying that God won't let them being jaded or let their heart be "over" broken. I swear being a mom is the most emotionally demanding job in the world. I LOVE this job. Thanks for sharing.

How awesome that he was able to come to you and cry and just be himself!! God has blessed him with a sweet gentle spirit which will help him grow into a strong and compassionate man!
