First Day Mama Blues

Well today was the first day of middle school for my two kids. This is also the first year they've been in public school and taking a bus. They have been in a Christian school up until now. Lots and lots or prayers were said in preparation for this day. The shirts the kids are wearing are those we made yesterday during our Kid's Day celebration. Their guinea pig pictures were transferred to their shirts.
This morning we were supposed to be out waiting for the bus at 7:05. The bus didn't come until 7:35. These kids were like caged animals pacing and trying to keep from being overcome with the stress of waiting.
As they boarded the bus and I snapped the pictures of them, I felt tears coming down my face. I couldn't believe I was crying! I was fine up until that point of whispering my prayer to God to please take care of my babies. (Like he wasn't up until then?) I had to laugh at myself and my idea that I was protecting my kids while they were in my care.........God was too!
When the kids came home it seems that the first day was not so good. Seems they showed the 5th graders how to get from class to class, but being a 7th grader, my son had to figure out a lot himself which made for such a stressful day. He seems better now and willing to try again tomorrow. With God's strength, he'll do it again, and it will be easier tomorrow. I told him that each day will get a little easier. He's counting on that! LOL
Until next time may you walk on His path and be carried in His hands and love those around you like there's NO tomorrow.

I went straight from a Christian school into 7th grade. Its tough! Your son has to ask questions, which I was much too shy to do. That's the year I really delved into the Psalms. I just remember feeling like David against my enemies back then. I'll pray for him too.
