Today we went back to school and tried not to get stressed rearranging all that we'd written for lesson plans this week. I decided to do fill in activities and transfer all I had planned for this week, to the week we come back from Christmas vacation.........oooops can't say Christmas, gotta say, Winter Break.
So do you have a picture of that little blue engine saying, I think I can, I think I can, from the story, The Little Engine That Could? That's what I've been saying this week since returning to work. Why you ask? Because students know that there are now only 2 days between them and Christmas break. I mean Winter Break. We also typically have a party before vacation as well.
My class party is tomorrow. Why you ask? Well, the parents usually send in so much stuff that we have it Thursday then enjoy the left overs Friday. We don't have the clean up Friday when we'll be making gifts and wrapping them. Then we'll watch a video, have some fun and go home. Tough life but someone's gotta do it!
LOL
I got a fun email from Hope today with this link. Check it out, it was so much fun. Thanks Hope....
I thought I'd share a little of our decorations this year. This is one of my favorite things to read each year and hang. That's my little buddy Ben when he was all of 2 years old.
This is one of our two countdown calendars to Christmas. We had to have two so Ben and Sarah EACH could countdown on their own calendar.
This is our favorite candle. It was originally a straight red candle that we used on the kitchen table but it was put in the attic and during the hot, summer months, it was transformed into this interesting creation. Each year I wrap it and put it in someone's gifts. Each person tries not to be the one who gets it. We used to have a piece of candy that looked like coal and we'd try to give it to someone in their stocking or presents. It's a fun game we play kind of like the card game, Old Maid.........you didn't want to be stuck with the old maid!
This is our Adornaments tree. It has different Christmas ornaments that tell about the birth of Jesus. The kids loved finding the ornament we'd talk about each night. We'd read what the ornament and a little book would say and also read the Bible. The kids loved to hold the ornament for the night while we read about it, then they'd hang it back up on the tree. We ended up with two sets of ornaments which made the kids happy as can be.
Well, that's a little bit of our Christmas cheer. Take care and help me count down those days won't you?
Hugs and Blessings to you.
I'm praying for an SCS friend, Faith, who just lost her mom to cancer this morning. Please join me in praying for Faith and her family.
Thank you,
This is a place where I can share my love of family, stamping and the Lord.

I can't believe you have to say Winter Break. Jesus must be coming back soon, this world is killing us with discouragement.
