Snow Day 2-More Than We Could Ask For

I'm reminded of one of my favorite verses, Ephesians 3:20
" Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us."
   I find that the more that is given to us, the more we want.  Yesterday when we got the day off already we were wondering, hoping for today off as well. Why can't we be satisfied with what we have?  Why do we crave for more?
    I remember before I was a Christian that I'd save for something I really wanted, and be very happy to have it, then 2 weeks later I'd be saving for something more........there was a hole in my heart and I tried to fill it with stuff.  Have you ever done that?
   After I became a Christian I realized that the hole was filled with Christ and the longing for stuff wasn't so great. I still like days off and hope to get them, but now I am praying more for God's will and not my own.
Many times that's so hard to do.
  Tim and I used this verse as the verse on our wedding invitations.  We were truly in awe of what God had given us in each other.  We didn't know each other very long before we knew it was from God.  Isn't that amazing?  I'm sure our moms were in prayer for our sanity to marry somone we'd known for 3 months.  As God planned though, we've been together for 17 years of ups and downs.


Yup, we have nasty low temps here in Cleveland and again are home from school. I celebrated my birthday here but the restaurant was closed that I wanted to go to.  So, tonight's the night we'll celebrate with Italian Food from Carrie Cerino's just down the street.  I love their lasagna!

Sarah's got some friends here for the afternoon.  It's so much fun to hear girls talk, giggle and make noise.  It's amazing to guys how much girls/women can talk.  I had a friend that I'd meet for dinner, and we'd often close the restaurant.  Tim just couldn't understand what we could talk about that would take hours to do. LOL


Know who your children are with............Here is a new blog on the block that is being written by my son's good friend, Jeff. I am comforted to know that this is the kind of guy he hangs with. Thank you God for your hand in all of this.

Tonight we went to Carrie Cerinos for dinner.  It was funny because they were playing all sorts of old-time Christmas songs.  Oh my we just tried to guess who was singing it and Ben and Sarah looked at Tim and I like we were crazy for knowing who sung the songs. Some of the music had to be during the 40's and 50's.
We had a good time. That's what this is all about, creating memories ya know?

I got my personal letter done and printed to go into my Christmas cards.  I have labels printed out, so little by little I'll begin to get my cards out.
