Tomorrow is my Sweet Sarah's 14th birthday. She is staying at her best friend's house tonight to celebrate with her first. Where has the time gone?
Today I was happy to get to play the sketch challenge. It was in the wee hours of the morning that I got to play. Here's my card for the challenge. I used versa mark and black ep for the penguin. Then I added two-way glue and white flock to his head and tummy. Next I used the SU snowflake embossing folder and added versa mark and iridescent ice embossing powder to it. I wanted it to look like ice he was skating on.
The images is Stampabilities which my friend Pam was so nice to let me stamp. Thanks Pam.
The next card is something I got by mistake.........don't ya just love it when that happens? I made my border at the bottom of the card as you see on the front.
Then I put the card through the Big Shot and the pattern embossed itself onto the inside of the card! Cool huh? This may be old news to you, but it was brand new to me! LOL
The next group of cards and pieces parts I made at a friend's house weeks ago. I finally had time to sit down and put them together into Christmas cards. A lot of the coloring I did during commercials while watching a bit of tv. The words are embossed with silver or gold ep. I found a gorgeous ep called ZING, that mixes silver or gold ep with glitter, which makes a gorgeous card! Wish SU would sell it! LOL
I saw this card on Linda Anderson's blog and just had to copy it.......I laughed out loud when I read it! What can you say?
I had lunch with my in-laws today at a restaurant called The Dolphin. It was very nice and man did they serve a lot of food. I ordered a chicken wrap which would have been fine for me, but this came with soup AND fries. I thought it was either but it was BOTH. My mil and I put our fries next to us so Ben and her hubby could help us eat the fries. I think I got 4 fries from my plate. Can't put any food near a 15 year old kid if you want any! LOL Grandma and Grandpa had Ben for a few days and couldn't believe how quickly food disappeared with him around! If they put it out to eat, he ate it!
It's always a good time when Ben stays there for a few days. Both Grandma and Grandpa really enjoy having him around. Ben loves it too. I love what it does for all of them. It is bonding such a special relationship that many kids don't have. Thank you God for what you're doing in our lives.
I was listening to Truth For Life by Alistair Begg of Parkside Church here in the Cleveland Area, as he spoke on Who Jesus Is. He usually uses letters to help you remember main themes. Jesus is: Perfect, Plural(three in one, one in three), Praised and there's one more but I can't remember it. There were 4 P's.
Anyway, he's from Scottland and preaches right from the Bible. He explains things in detail so you understand what he's talking about. He is one of the best preachers I've heard in our area. He has free pod casts you can download or just listen to. I get the daily email with the sermon each day. Give him a listen, you'll be glad you did.
I've added a video he did a couple of years ago. See what you think.
Well, it's time to go to sleep after I check the challenge on SCS for Thursday. I am enjoying doing the challenges again since I'm not working.
Blessings and thanks for stopping by,
This is a place where I can share my love of family, stamping and the Lord.
