Dearest Father in Heaven, I pray that you will watch over and guide us as we begin a new year. Help us to help others when we see needs we can do something about. Help us to be more like you and think of others before ourselves.
I usually don't make resolutions but decided this year to try again:
My resolution is to slow down and smell the flowers and to give more of myself to others.(not work) I also want to get back to reading my Bible each day and spending time with God.

Sarah and I talked and spent time together then watched the ball drop then hugged at midnight.
So why do we drop a ball at midnight? Whose idea was it and why?
My kids were asking and I didn't know. They said it seems silly to watch a ball drop in Times Square.
