This is a blog entry from Faith's blog on Jan. 8th. That was when they had her mother's memorial service. I'm telling you, this post made me cry. To think that many people, me included sent cards to Faith and her mom through her illness. Complete strangers who care enough to share their love of crafting with others. This is why I do what I do. I can bless total strangers with God's love. I don't have to even have a reply like Faith did here. I'm just happy to know that God put someone on my heart and I did His will and sent them a card to cheer them up. It takes so little to make such a big difference, ya know?

Mother's Memorial Service
Hello my cyber friends....
Today is my mother's memorial service. I want you all to know that she was so loved, that there has been an outpouring of phone calls, emails, letters, cards, donation notifications, etc, from so many of you that I can not possibly write OVER 2000 thank you letters. That's right...OVER 2000. We stopped counting after the 8th paper box was filled with the cards to take to the reception hall for mourners to view after the service.
Please know that Mark, Markie, my father and I have read every card. And well as over 200 mourners will have read and seen your beautiful cards, over 90 percent of them, handcrafted by you, my friends.
Thank you all for reading about my family's ups and downs, our triumphs and failures, and our sadness.
I know that over 12,000 cards that you, my friends, had sent to Mother over the past 3 1/2 years was read by her. She would display the 20-70 cards she received every day on the window seat of her hospital room while she was in the hospital and on her dining room table when she was home. She was so delighted to share them with each visitor who came by. She knew she was blessed by the outpouring of love from the stamping/crafting community. She would ooooo and ahhh over each card, pointing out the intricate detail work or simple beauty in each card. She'd cry out in delight at each lovingly handwritten personal note of encouragement from TOTAL strangers. You all, and I don't know most of you, but I KNOW you exist, because you SENT HER CARDS, made her feel like she made a difference in the world.
On behalf of my father, Mark, Markie, my sister and her family, my grandmother and me, I want to say, "Thank You, Bless You, and I Love You." You made a wonderful, loving, peaceful woman feel love and peace in the face of a lingering, painful, fatal illness.
Have a GREAT day, Thank you for Blessing my mother,
Faith

We all come across so many people each day that are going through something, yet don't share it. Little acts of kindness can make such a difference in people's lives. We all need to consider doing that more often. How hard is it to smile and say hi to someone we've never talked to before? How hard is it to compliment someone? How about paying for the person's order behind you in the drive thru? A note to encourage, a hug to comfort, a phone call to a widow, I could go on and on. You can do miracles for those you are around each day. Make it a challenge to yourself to do an act of kindness each day. Before you know it you'll be doing it more than once a day..........it will become a habit that will happen each time you come in contact with someone. Shine your light in the darkness of this world. That's what God calls us to do.
Are you ready for the challenge?
thanks for stopping by.
