God is my shield and protector

This is our first Crafters of Faith challenge for the year. Faith gave us this challenge.

January 2021 lovinpaper-Lisa

Scripture--Psalm 91:4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Challenge: Use this verse to inspire your card or project.

I stamped my bird in memento tuxedo black ink then colored it with Copic Markers. I used the Chickadee die to cut out the bird. I used my SU blending brush to add clouds to the sky. I masked with a circle so I could color a sun with yellow wink of stella. The bird was added with dimensionals.  The stamp and die set are from, Our Daily Bread Designs-Chickadee.

This morning I sat on the back porch to cool off from my shower and saw several woodpeckers partaking of the suet we'd hung up for them. I don't know why,  but I still marvel at these types of sights. I stop and stare like a little kid. Then I tell God thank you for the beautiful scene He's provided for me.  It's truly amazing what he has made.

Yesterday and today I sat sullenly as I watched and read the news in Washington, DC. How did our country get this far away from the values and ways that existed when our country was brand new?  What happened to right and wrong? What happened to, 'it's okay to disagree?' What happened to working together to solve problems instead of making everything party line? What happened to knowing that human lives are precious; whether unborn or standing next to you?

It makes me so sad to see what this country and world has come to.  I can't image how God feels with all of this going on.  It's a wonder he doesn't say, "Enough! This world must be finished, let the new world exist.  He truly does love us with unending love. It's a love I can't fathom at all.  I am grateful that I am His. I don't know how people go through this world without Him in their life.

I have been working on a blue ripple afghan. I do this while watching TV with Tim. It will be donated to Laura's Home, a shelter for battered women and their children which is part of The City Mission, here in Cleveland.

I enjoy crocheting scarves and blankets to donate.

This is the silver, light up tree my twin sent me for our birthday. It shows many different colors. She knows I just love colored lights. I have moved this to my quiet room, where I read and get away for some quiet time to myself.
Our challenge was to use fruit. I stamped fruit all over the front of my white cardstock. I added the image panel to pineapple punch card base. I added the sentiment with dimensionals. This is using, Cute Fruit from Stampin' Up.
This is a winter decoration that also lights up. It has colored filaments which light up. I love to watch this type of thing in the dark, to get the full effect of it.

Verse of the Day:Psalm 62:7

My refuge is in God.

Blessing of the Day: I got to talk to and pray with my dear friend, Jan. She had surgery early in the week and is now at her sister's house. She is struggling with high blood pressure and swollen legs. Please pray for her.

Tim and I cooked dinner together tonight. I love it when we both cook. Looking at some new recipes to try.

Thank you for stopping by.

Blessings,

Bensarmom
