Simple Woman's Daybook January 23, 2021

For Today, Saturday, January 23rd, 2021

This is where it all began.

Looking out my window, it's lightly snowing just making the ground wet. It's a cloudy, cold day.

My brother who lives in Port Orange sent a text that it's 39 degrees there! Yikes!

I live in Ohio and my Sister lives in Wisconsin. She told my brother that they walk around in shorts in that kind of weather.

I told him here in Cleveland, we swim in that kind of weather! I added a photo.

I am thinking, that I can't wait to get my two shots so I can get out and about again. I miss being with people and hugging my kids.

I am thankful that my classes for the month are finished. Now I can work on my videos and fun things with my new products.

One of my favorite things is watching the snow fall.

I am creating a ripple afghan to be donated to Laura's Home. This is a home run by The City Mission, which helps abused women recover from abuse and they are trained for jobs so they can make an income and support their children.

I am wearing jeans, shoes and socks, and my lighthouse sweatshirt.

I am listening
to Matthew West's new album on Spotify.

I am hoping to find Red Heart yarn called, Ocean. It isn't available around here. I had to put an afghan aside because it's out of stock.

I am learning that little things these days are amazing! Today we went to a favorite cafe for carry-out wraps. It was a great ride, and a tasty meal.

In my kitchen I have a recipe for beef burrito casserole. We will have ground turkey instead of beef. Tim found this recipe. We will work together to make this. We cooked together before we had kids. Now we're cooking together again now that kids have flown the nest! LOL

In the school room I am leaning different crochet stitches. Tim got me an afghan kit for Christmas. Every month I get 3 skeins of yarn complete with pictures and videos of what to do. So each month I learn 3 new stitches and use each on a new section of my afghan. This is the second month for my afghan.

In my garden it is snow covered. However, here in the house I have two Thanksgiving Cactus blooming as well as my Lantana.

A moment from my day- Here are two cards I made for the Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoaststampers today. First is the inspiration, then the card.

I fussy cut the sentiment, which was given to me. I colored the white side of the heart doily. I layered the hearts with the ribbon behind it. Then I added the sentiment with dimensionals.

I cut 4, 1 3/4" squares, and 1 1/4" squares for this card. I rounded opposite corners with the points of the squares to the center.
I added the large squares, then the small ones with dimensionals behind. I added a dimensional to the white flower. I stamped the sentiment, then added red rhinestones.

Verse of the Day: Acts 4:10-12
Here is a video by Mattew West which tells about the song, Truth Be Told.

Here is the song by Matthew West called, Truth Be Told. Give it a listen. We all need to be 'real' with those close to us.

Blessings of the Day: Tim and I went to our favorite sandwich shop for take-out.  I got cards written and mailed today. We got out for a drive to do errands, which was nice.

Thanks for stopping by,
Blessings,
Bensarmom
