The Simple Woman's Daybook for Wednesday, May 19, 2021

 For Today, May 19, 2021

Looking out my window it's a beautiful warm, sunny day here in Cleveland. I guess it's turned hot, Tim's put on the air conditioning.

I am thinking warm weather is here to stay. I am also thankful that my son was able to help me with my computer. Nothing like asking a 26 year old to do something and turn around and it's done! LOL  It only cost me a cup of coffee!  He's a great son!

I am thankful that we can begin to go without masks. I went to Applebees with a friend and had a delightful lunch.

It seems they were understaffed with waitresses or cooks because it took forever to get our order taken, brought to us and check picked up.

We didn't have anywhere to go so we were patient. They might have the same issue as other places, people make more staying home than by going out to work.

One of my favorite things is having my kids visit. I love hearing the stories and laughing.  It takes me back to when they lived here.

I am creating cards with a new stamp set that a friend gave me. She didn't want to admit it, but she ordered one she already had. The stamp set is, Lawn Fawn-Special Delivery. This was so sweet of her. She doesn't know that I struggle using small stamps like this. I get twitchy just looking at all those tiny stamps! LOL

Here's the card I made her to thank her.

I am wearing a nice blouse, pants and shoes, which I wore to the restaurant today.

I am reading Rose Harbor in Bloom by Debbie Macomber

I am also listening to Christian Artist, Jeremy Camp, The Story's Not Over

Here is a song from that album called, Keep Me In The Moment.

I am hoping we get a lot of things done this week to prepare for mulching Saturday with the kids.  I am also hoping my sister's pain from surgery yesterday is handled so she can sleep and let her body heal.

I am learning new techniques in card making. I love, love, love to learn new things! This is a card where I colored vellum with alcohol markers then dabbed a paint brush over it with 91% rubbing alcohol. It moves the colors together beautifully. Then I dry embossed the dried vellum.

In my kitchen the smell of chili cooking is wonderful. I love making chili and having left-overs. I freeze most of the left over but save some for me for a few days from when it's first made. Everything has marinated together and is better than the original chili.

In the school room I am learning new techniques to teach to my card making students. I love this job. I teach ladies how to make cards and use it as a ministry as well.

In my garden things have gone crazy growing! I love this time of year. Poppies are ready to pop open, roses budding, salvia displaying her colors, lilies of the valley sharing their perfume along with the Baltimore Orioles and Hummingbirds visiting the feeders.

A moment from my day: Two cats, one blue chair. They are fighting over it as though it is the only chair in the room.

When they were fighting, Tim took the chair away from both of them! LOL He said, 'no one with use the chair!'

So they've switched chairs now are are happily sleeping.  Sheesh, some days it's like having 2 year olds here where everything is MINE!

Verse of the Day: Isaiah 9:6    For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Blessings of the Day: My son didn't have to testify in a case for a place he used to work.
I got to see my son today. He fixed my computer and we got to catch up.
Tim's getting things done outside to get ready to mulch with the kids, Saturday.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed your visit.
Blessings,
Bensarmom

I love your cards. It’s wonderful your son was able to visit and help with your computer. We are still in lockdown here and can’t wait until we are allowed to have normal visits with family again. I love your cat story. Pets sure do entertain.

This was today's challenge on Splitcoaststampers, Ways To Use It Challenge. Sabrina challenged us to make pockets.  I used the tutorial...
