Another Card Layout That's So Versatile
Here is another card layout that will use a 6" x 6" piece of designer series paper to make two cards.
I made this using a Stampin' Up designer series paper that demonstrators could earn with sales. It is called, Countryside Rose. It is a pink version of Countryside Inn designer series paper. What attracted me to this layout was that It was very easy to cut for multiple cards. It looks great whether it's for a masculine or feminine card.
This card uses white cardstock for a base with Melon Mambo to put the designer series paper on and Pretty in Pink for the sentiment strip. The sentiment is stamped in Melon Mambo.
How to cut your 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper
1. Cut a 2" x 6" piece.
2. Cut the 2" x 6" piece of designer series paper at 2", 1 1/2" and 1". You will have a scrap left over.
3. Cut a 1" x 6" piece of designer series paper. Cut this at 4 3/4". You will now have a 1" by 4 3/4" piece. You will have a scrap left over.
You have a 3" x 6" piece of designer series paper left so you can make another card.
Card Measurements
Cardbase 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
cardstock 3 3/4" x 5"
Cardstock for sentiment 1" x 4 3/4"
Designer Series Paper
Cut a 2" x 6" strip then cut that strip at:
2", 1 1/2" and 1"
Cut a 1" x 4 3/4" strip for the bottom
* A 6" x 6" piece of designer series paper will make 2 cards.
Here's my video to show you how I made this card.
The first two cards were made using one piece of 6" x 6" paper from Thoughtful Journey.
The sentiments on these cards are from The Stamps of Life-Healing Thoughts 2 Stamp set. One thing I liked about this set was that it was all relating to getting well. It also had two circle stamps with the line stamps! I loved that the circle stamps were different sizes! You don't get that very often in stamp sets. I got this set for the cards going to Southwest General Hospital. The cards go on dinner trays to patients.
This card uses a white cardbase with Mossy Meadow behind the designer series paper. The sentiment strip is made from Fresh Freesia, as is the sentiment. The circle sentiments were added with dimensionals. A 2" circle punch was used for this sentiment.
This cardbase is white with Peach Pie cardstock behind the designer series paper. The sentiment strip is Fresh Freesia as is the ink. A 1 1/2" circle punch was used for this sentiment.
Look at the difference you get when you use a more masculine looking designer series paper. This cardbase is Wild Wheat with Cajun Craze behind the designer series paper and Calypso Coral for the sentiment. The sentiment is stamped in Cajun Craze.
This cardbase is white with Lost Lagoon for the cardstock behind the designer series paper. The sentiment cardstock is Calypso Coral. The ink is Cajun Craze.
This designer series paper is one of my favorites called, Timeless Plaid. On this card I used both side of the designer series paper.
The cardbase is Boho Blue and the cardstock behind the designer series paper is Mossy Meadow. The sentiment strip is Boho Blue. The ink for the sentiment is Mossy Meadow. A 2" circle punch was used for this sentiment.
Here's the card I made in the video. Check out how different it looks turned vertically instead of horizontally.
Thanks for checking out my post today. I hope you give this layout a try.
