A CASE of Mine

 Hey Everybody,

Today I have a CASE of my own card.

CASE typically means Copy and Share Everything

Now you know what CASE stands for, but how to you apply it to your card making hobby?

So how do you get inspiration from other crafters' work, but make sure it's your own, too?

I like to take a card idea and CHANGE at least 3 things about the card. Change the colors, the layout, the stamps used, techniques used, etc.

As you do this, you will learn about card making, supplies, design and you will develop your own style.

This is a card I made using 1/2" designer series paper strips at the top and bottom of my card. I used the Glass & Gardens embossing folder.  You'll notice that it doesn't fill the whole space.  I used the same embossing folder on the tall glass.

I stamped the lemon and colored it with daffodil delight with my Wink of Stella pen. Then I cut it so it would slide over the top of the glass.

I added designer series paper behind the glasses with angled edges, then copied that for the sentiment banner.  The images were added with dimensionals.

Remember when you CASE a card you need to change some things to make it yours.

I used two animals instead of two glasses. I used a wider designer paper for top and bottom borders. The paper is also different.

Instead of embossing the center panel, I used designer series paper and built a scene on that.  I wanted this to look like the two friends were enjoying a fun snack in the watermelon field. The sentiment gives one the idea that they will be separated soon.

Instead of one strip of paper for my sentiment, I cut mine into two pieces and put it at the top instead of the bottom.

There you have it, a CASED card that's different yet similar to the original.
Let me know how you like this card.
Thanks for stopping by today.
Blessings,
Sue
