Looking out my window
It is now dark and late. DH has gone to bed and I'm here working late into the night writing blog posts and making cards. This is my favorite time of the day. It is uninterrupted time to create or record my YouTube videos. It's so peaceful with Christian music in the background.
I am
thinking
that I have been truly blessed again by the Lord. Today we found out my son and daughter-in-law will have another child the middle of January! This will be our 2nd grandchild! We are so excited.
They came to lunch today and as Mia got out of the car I wanted to see her colorful shirt which read...
I am
thankful
that things are going well so far for Rachel. She's tired but oh so happy. She said my son wanted 3-4 kids and she'd be happy with 2 since she has to deliver them! LOL
One of my favorite things
I am
creating
a One Sheet Wonder with 11 cards. They just need sentiments.
I am wearing
a short-sleeve T-shirt, jeans, a sweatshirt and my multi-color Crocs. Our weather was hot today so I broke out the Crocs. Tim has the air conditioning on and I get cold easily, so I wear a sweatshirt in the house! LOL
I am reading
"Count your nights by stars, not shadows. Count your life with smiles, not tears. 1961. After a longtime resident at Nashville's historic Maxwell House Hotel suffers a debilitating stroke, Audrey Whitfield is tasked with cleaning out the reclusive woman's room. There, she discovers an elaborate scrapbook filled with memorabilia from the Tennessee Centennial Exposition. Love notes on the backs of unmailed postcards inside capture Audrey's imagination with hints of a forbidden romance...and troubling revelations about the disappearance of young women at the exposition. Audrey enlists the help of a handsome hotel guest as she tracks down clues and information about the mysterious "Peaches" and her regrets over one fateful day, nearly sixty-five years earlier. 1897. Outspoken and forward-thinking Priscilla Nichols isn't willing to settle for just any man. She's still holding out hope for love when she meets Luca Moretti on the eve of the Tennessee Centennial Exposition. Charmed by the Italian immigrant's boldness, Priscilla spends time exploring the wondrous sights of the expo with Luca--until a darkness overshadows the months long event. Haunted by a terrible truth, Priscilla and Luca are sent down separate paths as the night's stars fade into dawn."-- (Provided by Publisher)
In my kitchen
all is quiet. We've had a wonderful family meal of bow tie pasta with sauce and meatballs. Garlic bread is also a favorite with this meal.
In the school room
I continue to learn new skills for card making. I'm learning new fun folds, new layouts and new color combinations. One of my favorite ways to make cards is to look at odds and ends left over in the scraps, designer paper pile or colored images, and combine them to make a card.
Today I did that for the sketch challenge on Splitcoaststampers.
Pre-school is done for Mia for the summer. I don't know who is happier, her or her parents! LOL It was hard to get in a routine with her catching every illness that came through her classroom!
so much is blooming. The light and dark orange poppies, lavender and coreopsis are looking so pretty. Mia and I filled the jelly cup for the Baltimore Orioles and Redheaded Chickadees as well as the sugar water for the hummingbirds.
The garden is active with chipmunks which the cats love to watch. Phoebe is watching one in the picture and you can see the garden beyond her.
The water fountain on our porch is filled and running. I love the sound of trickling water. The weather has been so nice to sit outside with a cup of coffee or tea.
