Hey everybody,
The challenge today is to use a doily on your card. This is the old, Stampin' Up stamp that I used. It is one of my favorites, so It's still in my stash to use. I've taken mine off the wood however so it's easier to use.
Here's the lace embossing folder I used. It seemed like a perfect match for the highland heather strip of paper on my card. It is a 3D embossing folder which really shows on this card.
I stamped in versamark ink then heat embossed with white embossing powder. I stamped and colored the images with Derwent Watercolor pencils. I used a blender pen to blend the colors together. I fussy cut the images and added them with dimensionals. The gorgeous grape paper was dry embossed with one of my favorite retired SU embossing folders, Lace. I added my sentiment with dimensionals. I used a gold, metallic pen for the rims of the cup and plate. That gives it a bit of an old-fashioned look. I remember my grandmother having this type of tea cup which was used often, not kept on a shelf like many do today.

I like how this went together using lace elements that were favorites of mine from the past. Do you have stamps or other items that you love so you keep them? Doing challenges like this not only gets me cards for my different card ministries, but it also allows me to use what's in my stash. By going through things in my stash like this, it allows me to see what I have and helps me remember what I have when I do these challenges. It's good for my memory.
Speaking of memory, I just used the jar stamp set for classes last week. I had ladies fussy cutting the jar and lid. No big deal, right? Today I was getting a punch from a drawer and saw my jar punch. Yep, I had the jar punch and completely forgot!
That showed me how busy I was last week with classes each day, my granddaughter another day and my order with the jar stamps and punches arrived in the middle of a busy week so things got put aside. Crazy how that happens.
Now that I've had some time off from planning, I'll go back to my box of new product and begin to plan what I will use for September classes.
Thanks for stopping by today. See you again soon.
Blessings,
Sue
