Card For A Veteran

 Hey Everybody,

This card is for something Splitcoaststampers calls Teapot Challenge. This is a challenge where people request cards for those who could use a bit of sunshine. This week we are asked to make cards for a veteran. Sabrina's challenge can be found here

Cards are going out to Alexander, a former soldier. I made a collage of things outdoors and the American flag.
The red rubber flag stamp I had needs to be colored with water-based markers, so I used my Stampin' Up Stampin' Write markers and stamped at the top three times. Then I added the land in the center with copper clay ink. I added the trees with evening evergreen and the deer was stamped in soft suede.

I stamped a beautiful prayer inside, but I don't know the maker of the stamp. I asked God to lead me to the stamp He wanted inside this card. I knew when I found the right stamp.

That may sound strange to you if you don't know me. The Lord gave me the gift of encouragement. He also gave me the ability to make cards. So for over 20 years I've combined those two in Card Ministries to make and send cards to encourage others.

It might sound strange to send or receive cards from strangers, but if I knew a caring friend of mine asked for encouraging cards for me I would be amazed first that people who didn't know me would make and send a card to me. Then I would be so encouraged by the words and prayers that people put into their cards.

Sometimes we underestimate the power of a handmade card. In this day and age of electronic communication, letters and card sending has dwindled.  It's wonderful to receive a card or note to let you know someone is thinking of you.

If you or someone you know could use a card, please let me know. I'm happy to make and send a card.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Blessings,

Sue
