Hey Everybody,
Today's card of for an Alphabet Challenge at Splitcoaststampers. Each week you make a card with a pre-determined item. This week, the letter is F and the item is furniture. I knew when I saw furniture, which stamp I was going to use.
My furniture card is a quilt, covered rocking chair.
I stamped in Memento tuxedo black ink then colored with Copic Markers. I die cut the chair and added dimensionals to the back.

While I was working on this I thought it would be cool, to make a quilt behind the rocking chair. So, I punched out 1" squares and covered the background with them. I used my eyelet 3D embossing folder to make it look like a quilt. I added the image and sentiment with dimensionals so they would stand out.
This card will be donated to a local hospital and go on a patient dinner tray.
When making cards, do you think about what you can do with the background behind your images? Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. On this card it didn't occur to me until after I had the image cut out.
Sometimes depending on the challenge, I have a background in mind. It could be designer series paper or a technique. I did a challenge where you had to include stones on your card. Immediately I thought of the technique called, polished stone. I did that for the background then made my card.
Most times I used designer series paper for behind my images. What do you use?
Thank you for dropping by today. I hope to see you again soon.
Blessings,
Sue
