Hey Everybody,
Today I have a fun fold cards for you. This one is called a corner fold card.
Connie Stewart did a video to show how to make this card. You can see it here.

With this type of card, I found that the paper is the key. Find a striking type of paper and it does the work for you. Plus, this is an unusual card fold, so it's a WOW in itself.
1. Find a beautiful paper to use.
2. Find a great fun fold.
3. Minimal work to make your card a WOW card!
The next card is for the Alphabet Challenge. This week we made cards for the letter H with the prompt of Hat Pin. The prompts we get are usually about antiques. The stamp set I like to use when doing something old fashioned is, Friendship's Journey.
Our letter today is H with the inspiration being a hat pin. I stamped this lady in brown ink and colored her with light copic colors. I wanted the image to look like a colorized photo of long ago. Have you ever seen those? I really like them. I think it adds so much to the image by doing this technique. Here are a few colorized photos. I distressed the edges and used a dauber to add ink to them. I used a sanding block to rough up the image a bit. I like the look of distressed edges. We used to actually have a technique where we burned the edges of our cards. We worked over a sink with a lighter or match to burn the edges of our cards to get the uneven and sooty look. I wouldn't do that now because we have so many other tools to make things look distressed. I printed a few hat pins and fussy cut them. I punched holes in the image panel and added two hat pins to go with the theme of the card. I dry embossed with the postage stamps embossing folder then used direct to paper to ink it up with lots of different colors of brown inks. I tore the paper and used a dauber to darken the edges. That layer was added to an early espresso card base. The image was added with dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped with pecan pie ink then I use two image stamps from this set and stamped off a few times then stamped on the sentiment. I fussy cut the sentiment and added it to the card. |

Thanks for stopping by.
