Cutie Pie in a Sketch Challenge

 Hey Everybody,

Marion's challenge for us today can be found here. Here's the sketch we were given.

Here's my card.
I stamped the parrot then masked it to stamp the mug. I colored the image and added clear wink of stella to make it sparkle. I cut the rest of the shapes and added them to the background. I stamped the sentiment with misty moonlight and added the gems. This will go on a dinner tray at a local hospital.

Keywords: SC1080 parrot
Stamps: SU-Thoughtful Branches sentiment, Craft Emotions-Baby Animals 3
Paper: white, pool party, Country Woods designer series paper
Paper Size: A2
Ink: memento tuxedo black, misty moonlight
Accessories: 1 1/2" circle punch, Copic Markers, clear wink of stella, regal foil adhesive dots
Techniques: coloring, masking

This is one of the cute stamps I got specifically for use for the hospital cards I make. I wanted something that would make anyone smile. The paper I used is woodgrain which could be used for men or women. Most of the time we make cards for women since that's who we send most of our cards to. Because of that, it's more difficult to make masculine cards.
I'm working on getting more designer paper that can be used for men and not just flowers. I do love flower paper. Who doesn't? LOL
When I look at a sketch like this, I first decide where I want the image to be. Then I decide where the sentiment will go. What paper will I use?
For me, I wanted my image to be placed in the largest area so I chose the rectangle.  Then it seemed logical to use the circle for my sentiment.  I knew I wanted to use the woodgrain paper so it went together pretty easily.

How about you? What image would you use from your stash? Where would you put your image and sentiment? What paper will you use?
Here's another card I made with the same stamp set.

Faith's challenge was to use stones or rocks on our card. You can find it here.  So, I used the Polished Stone technique for my background. Then I stenciled bricks in behind my images. The tutorial for the technique can be found here.
I colored the two images and mug with Copic Markers. I stamped the sentiment on the die cut and edged it with pretty in pink ink using a dauber.
This will go to a nursing home for residents to use.

For this card I made my backgrounds and didn't use designer series paper. You can see the difference between doing that and using designer paper for the background like I did in the other card.

Thanks again for stopping by to see what I'm doing here.
I hope you get some stamping in today.
Blessings,
Sue
