Paper Weights, Ink Pad Holder, Double Embossing

 Hey Everybody,

Today I have a mish-mash of things. First I'd like to share something I found on paper weights. Last month in one of my classes we were discussing how confusing it is with paper weights. Here's something that has helped me.

The second thing I wanted to share was this. For those of you who purchased the Amazon car phone holder, check out what you can do with it along with having rubber stamps stick to it.

You can stick it to your stamping surface then add an ink pad on top of it. Now you can use your blending brushes without having to hold your ink pad in place!  I know, it's crazy it took me this long to figure this out. LOL

Here is a link to this on Amazon.

The Third thing is a challenge.
Our challenge was to use colored pencils. The challenge can be found here.
I stamped, and colored this cutie with Prismacolor, colored pencils. Then he was fussy cut. I colored the trees on the debossed side with Copic Markers. Then I used pecan pie ink direct to paper across the trees.
Lastly I stamped the snowflakes and heat embossed them with white embossing powder.
The little boy was added with dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with my stitched so sweetly dies.

Keywords: MIX656
Stamps: Christmas Cuties, Snowman Season
Paper: white, beige, azure afternoon
Paper Size: A2
Ink: Hero Arts-Unicorn, memento tuxedo black, azure afternoon, pecan pie
Accessories: SU Woodland Textured embossing folder, Copic Markers, dimensionals, SU Stitched So Sweetly Dies, scissors, Prismacolor Colored Pencils, heat tool, white embossing powder
Techniques: dry embossing, coloring, direct to paper, fussy cutting, heat embossing
Did you catch that this is a dry emboss and heat embossed card? Yup, I dry embossed the trees and added ink then I stamped the snowflakes and  heat embossed them with white embossing powder.

Have you ever made a card with two types of embossing on it? This also has another technique called direct to paper.
Direct to paper is simply dragging your ink pad across your paper. You can do this a little or a lot. It's up to you. This is a fun technique especially with paper that you've used an embossing folder with.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you found this information helpful.
Make a card and send it to someone and make their day.
Blessings,
Sue
