Hey Everybody,
This is a double challenge card. It is for the ABC challenge where P=Perfume and Tea party Challenge cards for Marilyn using a butterfly.
Stamps: Sketched Butterflies
Paper: black, white, silver, Thoughtful Journey designer series paper
Paper Size: A2
Ink: memento tuxedo black, silver
Accessories: Clear wink of stella, Tinsel Gems, Copic Markers, SU Glass and Gardens embossing folder, LDRS Creative butterfly dies, silver metallic pen. silver metallic marker, sharpie fine line marker
Techniques: dry embossing, die cutting, coloring, direct to paper
I used a line drawing of an old fashioned perfume bottle. It was colored with Copic Markers, silver marker and silver pen. I added clear wink of stella to it also.
The background is Thoughtful Journey designer paper which was embossed with the Glass and Gardens embossing folder.
Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper
I cut butterflies from Thoughtful Journey paper and silver. I added Tinsel Gems to the butterfly and card. I stamped Thinking of you on the perfume bottle. The designer series paper is added to black cardstock then to a white card base. This will be sent to Marilyn.
The fun thing about these challenges is that it really gets you to think. When I cut out the perfume bottle, I was wondering what I would put with it. Then I saw the other challenge to use butterflies and my card idea expanded to include butterflies.
When I placed them on the designer series paper, it looked too plain, so I embossed it. The embossing blended in a bit, so I added ink to it. Little by little my card changed as I put it together.
How do you do cards? Do you have an idea in mind at the start? I do not have a fixed idea. I have a basic idea that is added to as I go along. It's always a surprise for me to see the finished product.
This type of card making really expands my card making skills and stretches my creativity since I'm not using the same old colors, supplies or layouts.
What would your card look like if you needed to use a perfume bottle that looked old, and butterflies?
I'd love to see what you make.
Thank you for dropping in today.
Blessings,
Sue
