Hey Everybody,
Today's card is for a color challenge. The challenge was to use peach pie, pool party and gorgeous grape. The dessert is travel.
*Tip-After gluing the vellum run it through your embossing machine like you were die cutting. It flattens it beautifully.
I added the image panel to a black panel then to a white card base. Instead of using a mode of travel, I used a place I've traveled to.
This will go on a patient dinner tray at a local hospital.
Stamps: Our Daily Bread-Mountain Range
Paper: watercolor paper, black, white
Paper Size: A2
Ink: memento tuxedo black, peach pie, pool party, gorgeous grape
Accessories: paint brush, vellum, glue
Techniques: watercolor
Sometimes when working with watercolor paper, I tape all four sides down to keep the paper from curling. When I'm finished water coloring I use my heat tool to dry the paper while it's still taped down.
When I use ink pads, I tap an acrylic block onto the ink pad to get some ink. Then I add water with my water brush and mix the ink and water. Then I apply the ink with the water brush. The more water I add, the lighter the ink becomes.
When the image panel is dry, remove the tape and stamp your image. Most times I use a stamping platform so if I want to make the image darker, I can do that.
I used Memento tuxedo black ink. Sometimes I use Stazon black ink because it's a permanent ink. When I use Stazon, I know I will need to stamp my image several times, especially on watercolor paper, which has an uneven texture.
When adhering the watercolor paper to my card base, I make sure that it is taped on all of the edges to have it lay down flat.
The fun thing about using watercolor paints is, you can use just about any kind you have. You can use the kind you used in grade school, an adult water color set, or something in between.
Well, now it's your turn. What do you have that you can use to watercolor? What stamp set do you envision using for this card? Sometimes it helps to know the stamp first, so you can plan what paint colors you want to use.
Since I didn't have a choice for this card, it didn't matter what stamp set I used.
Thanks for stopping by today.
I hope you give this a try.
Blessings,
Sue
