It's a busy time for me here in Ohio. We've been experiencing thunderstorms for the past few days which has made for some great stamping weather. Our school carnival was postponed Friday night, which worked out well for me. I was able to finish stamping some gifts for my upline. Her birthday is today. I found a neat organdy bag with a metal inside. So I tried to add rub-ons to the front. This was harder than I thought it would be. I needed to fill the container so I'd have a hard surface to rub on to get the whole image transferred to the material. It worked fairly well, but was difficult enough I didn't try to do rub-ons for the side or back.
Inside are some more handmade gifts and items I know she wants and/or needs. I've never known a stamper who didn't need adhesive or refills for adhesive. My friend also really enjoys tea, so I made holders for the tea bags and tea to add to bottled water. I also stamped a set of all occasion cards for her to use.
The next gifts for my up-line are soap. I stamped on tissue paper then adhered it to the soap with mod podge. I saw this on someone's blog and thought I'd try it. I'm not sure if you can use the soap or if it is decorative. We'll see when my upline tries it.
This is a paper cube from Hollo's Paper Supply in Brunswick. I stamped the three sides with my favorite flower then made a cardstock top for the cube, that could be lifted so paper underneath could be used, then flipped down so you'd see the pretty sunflowers when you're not using it.
This is the beautiful artwork my DS brought home this week. Isn't it wonderful? He got an A+ on it. Lots of effort here. This from my one who doesn't usually do well with art.
These are the goodies I made for Teacher Appreciation Day, May 6th. My kids will make a card for each of their teachers and give them goodies along with their card.
This is the wooden frame I bought at Michaels and painted with acrylic white paint, then stamped on it in sepia versafine then colored with my SU markers. I love how it turned out. This is for a good friend's birthday.
thank you once again for visiting today. Our sermon at church was how to deal with difficult people at work or anywhere for that matter. Whew what a challenge that will be this week. I'm praying that God will continue to bless me with ways to help others.
Praying you have a good week too.
Hugs,
This is a place where I can share my love of family, stamping and the Lord.
